RHEA is currently recruiting a Ground Segment and Interface Engineer to support the Infrastructure Engineering Maintenance Team at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Covering the system and interfaces engineering activities in support to the routine operations of the MTP, MSG, EPS and Jason2 operational programmes. Maintain the overall system design documentation of the operational systems. Maintenance of the uptodate set of Interface Control Documents for all the operational systems. When evolutions of the systems are proposed and implemented, you shall analyse them and verify the system and interfaces coherence. Perform analysis, investigations and resolution of system level anomalies. For GEO and LEO programmes, participate to the definition of the system architecture and interfaces between the multimission elements and the programme specific elements of the ground system Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory At least a university education in the relevant field of study. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Development and maintenance of complex operational ground systems, preferably for remote sensing spacecrafts with large reuse of existing generic infrastructure and functional elements System, IVV and Interfaces Engineering AIT experience for the development of major upgrades new ground systems in a 247 operational environment Interfaces requirements definition, engineering and test, including the generation and maintenance of Interface Control Documents, with support of tools Proven knowledge and experience in eitheror Satellite monitoring and control systems, Data processing, Dissemination, Archive systems, Ground Stations The following skills would be highly desirable Full development cycle of large systems, from the definition of requirements to system design and testing Knowledge of Network system engineering would be considered as an advantage. We are looking for a Ground Segment System Interface Engineer to work as part of the Infrastructure Engineering and Maintenance team at one of our clients in Germany. Job Description The individual will provide interface engineering support during the ground system design phase, contribute to the definition of IVV activities and provide support to the Ground System Interfaces Engineer. The role will also include working with the system and interface engineers for future ground segment to ensure that new interfaces are compatible with Operations requirements. The role will involve analysis to verify system and interface coherence, system architecture and interface evolutions, and to address system level anomalies. He or she will define the interface testing approach and support the coordination of installation, integration and verification of new systems into an operational infrastructure, such as for new GEO and LEO systems. There will an element of documentation preparation and maintenance such as Statements of Work, ICDs and System Design definitions. Support the GSI System Engineer on all related activities as requested Attend the OPS regular coordination meetings, including CRBs and ARBs, as requested. In the role of support to the development of new GEO and LEO programmes, the tasks of the Key person shall include Participate to the definition of the system architecture and interfaces between the multimission elements and the programme specific elements of the ground system In coordination with the system and interface engineers of the future ground segment, ensure that the definition and documentation of new interfaces are compatible with the methodology used in Operations this include the use of common templates for Interface Control Document and the use of the same tool for maintaining the interfaces data dictionary Provide support to the definition of the IVV approach for the future ground systems Promote the implementation of the TSS working practices regarding system maintainability and evolutions. Language Skills The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the Key person must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other. Good communication skills are essential for the fulfilment of the tasks requiring interaction. Personal Skills The Key person shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
