For our customer in Darmstadt we are looking for a Ground Stations System Engineer to support in the ground segment developments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications. You will be involved not only in the existing MSG and EPS programmes but also in future missions like EPSSG, MTG and JasonCS. The successful candidate will be based at EUMETSAT headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Due to the nature of the tasks it is estimated that up to 20 of the activities may be conducted outside of EUMETSAT premises travel to Ground Stations and backup centres located within Europe. Tasks and Responsibilities The tasks will include follow up of the detailed design and development activities of Phase BCD of the future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications mainly for supporting EPS SG and JasonCS activities MTG MDAF and TTCF Warranty and Maintenance phases in the areas of Telecommunications, RF and Ground Stations maintenance and evolution in phase E to the other programmes within EUMETSAT MSG, EPS, Jason, ... in the areas of Telecommunications, RF and Ground Stations. Skills and Experience The Key Person shall have the following attributes and skills university degree in a relevant engineering discipline experience in a similar function for at least 2 years experience in Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for TTC experience in TTC baseband equipment and SLE compliant implementations technical background in the specification and VV of ground stations and large antennas and tracking systems for GEO and LEO satellites knowledge of modulationdemodulation schemes applied by Ground to Space ICD for TTC and payload data transmission e.g. ECSS and CCSDS Standards. Knowledge and experience in the following areas will be considered as an asset engineering processes for managing requirements from the definition phase through the traceability, verification, validation and maintenance stages using formal methods and tools e.g. DOORs system experience with Link budget analysis and tools in S, X and Ka Band standard RF and microwave tools and SW package for generation of signal processing related simulations andor semiautomated measurement procedures. Engineer, Ground Systems Island of Man Douglas Your Job Based in the Isle of Man, the Ground System Engineer will implement and provide operational support for ground stations and systemsprocesses for the Isle of Man and teleports abroad which are used to enable SES spacecraft deploymentsoperations as well as to deliver services to SES customers. The post holder will design, analyze, specify, implement and enhance SES Tracking, Telemetry Control and Teleport Communications Systems as well as the Ground Control Monitoring Systems that SES requires in order to fulfill its multiple satellite missions. The post holder will maintain and enhance Spacecraft Operation Control SOC infrastructures and associated baseband systems.
