Junior Engineer, Software 2 years contract Luxembourg Betzdorf Role Description Summary This project related position will primarily support the design, development and verification of Network Monitoring Systems, Operational Support Systems and Business Support Systems NMSOSSBSS for SES Techcom Services satellite broadband platforms and managed services. This includes software development, documentation and configuration, system integration and validation, as well performance testing. The incumbent will be integrated and trained within an international team of highly skilled engineers and will gradually take more responsibilities. In this project related position you will be hired for two years to primarily support the design, development, testing and delivery of system and services on behalf of governmental services and humanitarian aid. The solutions shall support and facilitate customers activities in the area of ecare, elearning, esurveillance ehealth and disaster recovery. You will support the preparation of technical proposals in response to international tenders and the contribution to the development, implementation, and improvement of ground based services and systems. The secondary objective is to support software development of Big Data Space Systems. Main Duties Coding of scientific computing software designed by instrument processing engineers. Development of automated tests at unit, integration, verification and validation level designed by VV engineers. Education An excellent academic track record with a BSc minimum 2.1 or above in a computing, scientific, mathematical or engineering discipline. MScs and PhDs preferred. Professional Experience Up to 3 years in sectors related to scientific computing computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, bioinformatics, etc. Technical Requirements The candidate must be a generalist, capable of adapting to new languages and technologies.
