This post is classified in the A2A4 grade band of the Coordinated Organisations salary scale. LOCATION ESTEC, Noordwijk Netherlands, with resident assignment at ESA HQ Daumesnil, Paris France. DUTIES The postholder will be assigned as integrated support to the Directorate of Launchers, and will report to the A6 Launcher Project Manager and to the A6 Launch Base Project Manager of the Launchers Development Department for projectspecific responsibilities and duties. For the maintenance of professional standards, for the implementation of the ESA general Product Assurance Safety PAS policy and for contributions to corporate tasks e.g. reviews, standardisation, alerts, lessons learned, etc., the postholder will report to the Head of the Product Assurance and Safety Department TECQ through the Head of the Launchers Quality Management Office LAUSQ. Within the Ariane 6 governance structure, specific responsibilities and duties will include, in particular coordinating the assigned PAS workforce integrated within the Ariane 6 launcher launch base project teams oversight, identifying and monitoring support RAMS QA to the project teams, coordinating activity with the Ariane 6 risk officer, Ariane 6 PAS insight and with the Ariane 6 PAS launch system architect supporting the Head of LAUSQ for the National Surveillance Organisation NSO coordination for Ariane 6 Launcher Launch Base needs establishing monitoring the specific PAS plans in compliance with ESAs general PAS policy monitoring of prime supplier PAS performance for the Ariane 6 Launcher project Ariane 6 Launch Base as required reviewing contractors plans, specifications and effort proposed for the execution of the Ariane 6 Launcher Launch Base projects, ensuring that the PAS requirementsguidelines intent of ECSSQ, best practices of the profession considering Launcher specificities, incorporation of past Launchers lessons learned in development exploitation are properly taken into account by the primes and properly addressed throughout the contractual chain guiding, monitoring and assessing the implementation of PAS requirementsplans by contractors in order to assess performanceeffectiveness. Participation in design, acceptance and safety reviews and directing the necessary preventive or corrective actions preparing for endorsement the PAS documents managing nonconformances, requests for waivers, failure reviews and inquiries, acceptance reviews, test reviews, etc. representing ESA in the Boards established within the projects for the disposition of nonconformances, requests for waivers, failure reviews and inquiries, MRB Material Review Board, acceptance reviews, test reviews, etc. where relevant, monitoring the manufacturing, integration and test activities with quality assurance audits, mandatory and key inspection points, test witnessing and configuration inspections defining the formal acceptance requirements and conducting the acceptance reviews of contractual deliverable items for the Ariane 6 Launcher project Ariane 6 Launch Base reviewing RAMS documentation in particular Ariane 6 Launch Base Launcher Critical Items contributing to the configuration control, assessing relevant change proposals developing Ariane 6 launcher launch base project audit policy identifying Ariane 6 Launcher Launch Base projects auditinquiry needs, contributing to the Ariane PA S audit plan managed by LAUSQ, being lead auditor of some audits, inquiries, managing Ariane 6 Launcher Launch Base auditinquiry followup organising Ariane 6 Launcher Launch Base projects lessons learned. In order to increase synergy within LAUSQ, and at the request of the Head of Office, the postholder will be requested to support activities on the other Launcher programmes e.g. participation in reviews, MRBs, investigations, etc. and to support the DLAU QMS officer. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, with a background in space systems. Several years of experience in the management of Product Assurance and Safety are required as well as knowledge of the launchers domain and proven experience in interfacing with partners e.g. industrial primes in an international environment. Candidates should have good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a diverse and international team environment and to achieve solutions in line with team objectives. In addition, applicants should have good leadership, organisational and communication skills, as well as a proactive attitude towards solving problems. For behavioural competencies expected from ESA staff, please refer to the ESA Competency Framework. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these two languages is required together with a working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of another member state language is an asset.
