Inmarsat has been at the forefront of global mobile satellite communications for over 30 years, offering a range of voice and highspeed data communications for users on land, at sea and in the air. Inmarsats Broadband Global Area Network BGAN System offers high availability packet switched services, circuit switched services and value added services using a fleet of Lband satellites. A large and varied portfolio of mobile satellite terminals specialized for Maritime, Aeronautical and Land applications deliver services to subscribers. Inmarsat also provides a global service to handsets called GSPS. BGAN products and services are regularly enhanced and optimized to meet new subscriber requirements. In August 2010, Inmarsat announced a US1.2 billion investment in a new constellation of three Kaband satellites and supporting ground infrastructure. This new network, Global Xpress GX, will deliver seamless global coverage, unprecedented broadband speeds and offer unparalleled access to myriad application and entertainment services to Inmarsat partners and subscribers. As a member of the Enterprise Product Service PS team, the successful candidate will lead internal and external stakeholders in the development, implementation, integration, and worldwide deployment of both Lband and GX products and services to Enterprise markets. This Product Management role encompasses leading and managing critical elements of the Enterprise PS portfolio leading to successful launch, including the requirements process and integration of partner systems and applications. A track record of working with distributed teams and meeting established deadlines for program milestones are essential, as well as experience delivering network solutions to the Enterprise market. Preference will be given to candidates with indepth experience in mobile satellite communications SATCOM similar to Inmarsat Lband BGAN offerings. Key Responsibilities Engage internal and external stakeholders, as well as leverage industry experience and contacts, to Develop, define, document and manage Enterprise Product and Service requirements to exceed Business Unit, partner and subscriber expectations Qualify, integrate and support existing and new Value Added Resellers VAR and Distribution Partners DP to drive wholesale distribution Include and align Enterprise projects with the PS roadmap, planning acquisitiondevelopment, schedule and launch, monitoring progress, identifying dependencies, as well as risks and options for resolutionmitigation Provide subject matter expertise on satellite terminals, ancillary products, including the installation and operating environment, interfaces, maintenance and regulatory considerations Provide subject matter expertise on network applications and protocols, as well as commercial enterprise information assurancesecurity best practices Provide subject matter expertise on Satellite Services including indepth knowledge of the service capabilities and use cases. Provide PS technical information to assist the Enterprise business unit and marketing team to develop market messaging, collateral materials and bid and proposal BP responses to commercial opportunities Coordinate partner pilot programs with Inmarsats Enterprise business unit, operations, and customer support to drive market adoption through effective, reliable demonstration of Inmarsat capabilities to prospective VARs, DPs, subscribers and users Lead Enterprise PS engagement with technology partners, VARs and application developers to assess market adoption progress, as well as evaluate issues, market challenges and new requirements, with incorporation of approved changes to the roadmap Prepare whitepapers and presentations on Inmarsat BGAN competitive positioning, new technology advances, applications and operations use cases Examine products, documents and collateral and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications, ensuring that PS documentation is reviewed, approved and kept under revision control Support the develop of technical proposals for capability developmentacquisition, Lead the solution definition for new or updated products and services including functional, process and performance definition using various methods such as use cases and modeling. Define, plan and Lead prestudy or concept study activities as vehicles for solution definition and understanding. Define PS performance metrics and maintain data on market delivery to ensure progress to plan is being met. Essential Knowledge and Skills Bachelors degree in a field related to wireless communications Technical background and experience in mobile satellite communications SATCOM and satellite telephony services Demonstrable effective project leadership and successful delivery and rollout of network solutions meetingexceeding technical and financial performance objectives Ability to work independently and flexibly, organizing and leading the execution of project tasks across multiple internal and partner teams Experience with the processes for specification, selection, procurement, certification and rollout of managed communications solutions Excellent spoken and written communication in the English language, as well as the ability to raise action points with clarity and confidence in the presence of senior management. Demonstrated technical writing ability in the English language and delivery of high quality work product suitable for external technical and marketing communications.
