Shower and thunderstorm activity associated with a weak area of low pressure located about 1200 miles southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula is limited. Showers and thunderstorms have become better organized this morning, and recent satellite-derived wind data indicate that winds have increased to just below tropical-storm strength. Any further improvement in the associated thunderstorm activity could result in the issuance of advisories on a tropical depression or a tropical storm later today or tonight. * Formation chance through 48 hours...high...90 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent.
