Cotton yarn import prices are surging at China's borders, back from new year holidays. The sharp increase of cotton prices outside China may now offer room for domestic spinners who will be less pressured by foreign rivals. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

Ending stocks could be further reduced in the coming season 2017-18 amid a new development in international cotton trade, according to a first forecast from the ICAC.
