ResponsibilitiesDuties The general activities to be supported by this service are Study of Project specific Characteristics and Ground Segment Documentation Participation in the Analysis and Design of Satellite Operations Preparation Update of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures Mission Management and Mission Planning Support Participation in the Training and Simulation Programmes Participation in Routine and Critical Operations General Flight Control Support Spacecraft Performance Analysis QualificationsExperience University degree or equivalent education in Electric or Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering. Essential Skills Spacecraft Flight Operations knowledge, including FDIR, in particular for the Data Handling Subsystem Earth Observation Payload Operations experience. Experience with Packet Utilisation Standard. Hands on familiarity with operational tools MCS, Simulator, DB browser, MOIS or equivalent tool. Experience in working in an operational environment. Experience with flight procedures life cycle, including validation. Experience with anomaly investigations. Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems. Experience with low Earth orbit satellites operations, including experience in preparatory phase OPSPREP, special operations LEOP, Deorbiting campaign and operational phase routine Ability to work independently and with little supervision. Ability to work in an organised manner, with good reporting skills and reliable deadline meeting. Coordination skills with internal Flight Control Team, and external payload data centre, Satellite developer, simulator developer parties. Fluency in English. Desirable Skills Familiarity with the ESOC environment. Familiarity with low Earth orbit satellites. Familiarity with OBSM. Tasks For phases CDE1 of a new Geostationary Telecoms Mission we are looking for Operations Preparations Engineers. Knowledge of German would be an advantage. Other Information Start date is September 2017. The initial location of the work is in our Darmstadt office. When the control centre for the mission is ready for use location TBD within Germany, remaining tasks will be performed there.
