The Operations and Maintenance Manager reports to the Galileo Service Operations Manager. Nevertheless such hierarchical reporting may change as soon as the Galileo exploitation will enter its next phase. The tasks and responsibilities shall in principle include without limitation Technically manage the Galileo Operations and Maintenance subcontracted activities Galileo Services Operations GSOp contract, SAR Galileo Data Service Provider SGDSP contract Maintain the associated technical requirements baseline Coordinate the deployment, operations, maintenance and evolution of the Galileo Core infrastructure procured by European Space Agency ESA under the Working Arrangement Ground Segment with the Service Facilities procured by GSA Galileo Service Centre GSC, Return Link Service Provider RLSP or delegated to the service operators Galileo Data Dissemination Network GDDN, Time Service Provider TSP, Geodetic Reference Service Provider GRSP and contributing to the service provision Manage the technical interface with the Galileo service provision contractors GSOp, SGDSP, GSMC, in the future the Commercial Service Providers CSP, and in particular the associated KPI regimes, the maintenanceobsolescence reports, the Service rollout progress of the new Galileo system releases, the service provision risks and the baseline changes Technically manage the service provision and operations changes baseline configuration changes or deviations, operations processes evolutions and service provision transitions Conduct the Service validation and testing, defining the test platforms utilisation plans Ensure the technical management of the security aspects of the services provision related to deployment, operations, maintenance, evolutions and managing the technical implementation of security risks reductions measures, through the support provided by GSA Security department Ensure the timely accreditation of the Galileo Global Component Core System and Service Facilities and Galileo Services, by coordinating contributions to preAuthorisation to Operate ATO under ESA responsibility, achieving ATO and Service Accreditation milestones under GSA responsibility, through the support provided by GSA Security department and the industry WP1x Coordinate the interfaces with the users of the Galileo Services, ensuring the timely provision of information related to the status of the services through the Galileo Service Centre Open Service , Commercial Service, SGDSP SAR and GSMC PRS Participate to the Galileo Obsolescence Management review and requirements definition and coordinate the activities for the implementation on the infrastructure Ensure the technical interface with the Galileo infrastructure sites hosting entities and national authorities Liaise with the GSA Legal and Procurement Department, Finance Department and with the Administration division for procurement and project management activities Support the Galileo Service Operations Manager for any topics related to the Galileo services implementation and contribute to other tasks of the department, as necessary More information can be found on the following website httpswww.gsa.europa.eugsajobsopportunities

RHEA is currently recruiting a System and Ground Stations Operations Preparation Engineer to support the Programme Preparation and Development Department at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include System and Ground segment operations preparation activities Ground segment procurements for the future programmes including acceptance and validation phase Review documentation and attend formal reviews as part of the procurement process Supporting and witnessing IVV testing for future programmes Definition and maintenance of operations procedures, including system and ground segment procedures and operations guides Liaison with the spacecraft operations team to ensure the continuity and optimisation of spacecraft monitoring and control activities Day to day operations of current and future ground stations including daytoday planning, monitoring and first line anomaly investigations Processing and coordination of system and ground segment anomalies in particular but not limited to ground stations , their documentation, investigation, classification and resolutionmitigation, including participation in Anomaly Review Boards Analysis of ground station obsolescence, and upgrade paths within a 247 operations environment Participation in technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling and planning meetings Provision of training, through written materials, practical demonstrations and presentations, to other members of the Operations and Engineering Teams. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree in a relevant technical discipline or the equivalent work experience At least three years experience in a realtime spacecraft operations environment At least three years experience in the routine operations of satellites preferably in an earth observation environment Experience of the preparation and use of operational procedures, databases, displays and documentation The following skills would be highly desirable Experience in the operations preparation and routine operations of Geostationary GEO andor Low Earth Orbit LEO satellite systems Experience in the procurement phase of ground segments for satellite monitoring and control and mission data reception, ideally in the Earth Observation domain Experience of document management and configuration control processes Experience of development and upgrades within a 247 operations environment Experience in defining user interfaces for operations HMI, reports etc. How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level? The Operations Analyst reports to the GSMC Operations Manager. Hisher main areas of responsible are supporting GSMC Security Monitoring and PRS Access operations by using hisher expertise and operational tools to support decision taking. The tasks and responsibilities shall in principle include without limitation Providing advice and expertise to current GSMC Operations, external stakeholders such as Member States and European Institutions, and to Galileo Crisis Management. This will include suggesting courses of action and providing advice on the impact of various proposed options during Crisis Management of the Galileo System Analysing GSMC operational data and providing summary reporting in line with the GSMC operations reporting plan e.g. drafting weekly monthly reports Conducting studies and trend analysis in support of GSMC operations or service provision, to identify improvements or optimisations to GSMC operations and to contribute to the GSMC service reporting Developing and maintaining the necessary tools, databases and models which in turn will enable to proactively provide advice and assist in planning during crisis response Ensuring the organisation of GSMC operations, including the availability of operators, coordinating the availability of infrastructure and GSMC business continuity planning Closely working with the operations engineering team to develop new requirements and operational scenarios and to optimise existing ones Act as the project officer for external support work packages designed to enhance the GSMCs capability With a view to optimise the usage of resources in the event of a crisis, any GSMC Operational Analyst might be requested by the onshift operators or the GSMC Operations Manager to work on shift and provide operations support in the form of expertise and advice on the course of action to be followed during particular events or activities. The required training related to this role will be organised by the GSA and the GSMC Operational Analyst will need to have passed the relevant operational training and evaluations for both roles in order to remain qualified for the post. This is expected to be activated only during crisis periods and when additional front line operators are not available. The GSMC Operational Analysts may be required to participate to an on call duty roster in line with the GSAs applicable on call duty rules. Frequent missions and temporary detachments to the UK GSMC Site Swanwick, and occasional ones to other European locations are foreseen for this post.
