Product and Service Integration Specialist

For our activities in ESRIN, we are currently looking pending ESAs final approval for a Product and Service Integration Specialist on a fixed term contact until end of March 2018. Main responsibilities Within the ESA Sensors Performance, Products and Algorithms SPPA Section the postholder will be included in the Swarm Data Innovation and Science Cluster DISC contractual framework and will work on the evolution of Swarm Level 1B and Level 2 products, in coordination with the DISC Science teams and the ESA Payload Data Ground Segment PDGS team. The main objective of this VN is to identify a candidate in charge of understanding scientifically critical aspect, and actively supporting and coordinating internally the implementation of evolution changes leading to new Swarm products and or services. The candidate shall ensure that new Swarm product and services are correctly integrated into the PDGS. Optimised, effective and rightsized implementation solutions are designed and implemented with a flexible and resultoriented approach. The Swarm Product and Service Integration Specialist will perform the following activities, responding to the DISC Products Evolutions coordinator Support the coordination within the DISC partners concerning the evolution and concept of new products coming from the Swarm baseline products Participate in the Data Quality Workshops DQW discussion groups to be informed on the open issues and suggestions for innovation Inject bridging the information coming from operational teams into the new products and services function e.g. improvements on existing products, algorithms modifications, proposals for new parametersproducts Participate in other Mission coordination meetings in order to be informed on inputs from industry and instrument teams that can eventually lead to evolution of products Interfacing with the Quality Control QC team for gathering inputs concerning Level 1B and Level 2 data quality Proactivity in proposing new ideas basing on his her own expertise and background Support the DISC Board of Representatives discussions concerning Swarm products evolution, in particular reporting on the service implementation impact aspects Interface with internal teams Data QC, SW development, configuration and change management and external teams PDGS to capture and report the service and infrastructure impact of the evolutions being discussed. Interface with the ESA PDGS team and other ESA entities for all the technical aspects concerning the integration and distribution of new products Review the DISC Procurement decisions and report to DTU Provide possible PDGS requirements to the DISC Procurement teams to support the development of the invitation to tender package Support the PDGS in the integration of the new product and services e.g. operational processor development, distribution flow, service integration and TTO and coordinating the data production actors taking into account the technical needs of the PDGS Coordination and collaboration with QC team for defining the routine quality control checks to be performed on new products development of adhoc data analysis routines if needed. Ideal candidate Requirements Applicants should bring a Science education aerospacecommunicationsplasma engineer, physics, astronomy..., and a good scientific background in Geophysics, in particular Earths magnetic field, Magnetosphere Ionosphere Thermosphere coupling, SunEarth connections and Space Weather. Furthermore the following are mandatory requirements Strong coordination and interfacing capabilities, towards internal teams and external commercial scientific technical entities Capability to identify rightsized solutions for each specific goalimplementation need, to minimise unnecessary overhead complexity costs and maximise flexibility Proactive approach to problem identification and resolution Ability to plan and report on proposed problem solutions and to work to deadline Candidates should be fluent in English and have good writing and communication skills Availability to travel to attend meetings. Applicants should have a high level of selfmotivation, the capability to work effectively in a team and autonomously, and have excellent organisation skills. A strong proactive attitude is required in identifying problems and proposing time, complexity and cost effective solutions.
