Altice USA prices IPO near high end, raises USD 1.9 bln

(Telecompaper) Altice USA has priced its IPO near the high end of the indicated range, at USD 30 per share. As a result, it will raise a total USD 1.918 billion before costs from the sale of 63.94 million shares. Altice is selling 12.07 million shares, for proceeds of USD 362.1 million, and its shareholders BC Partners and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board are selling the remaining shares in the IPO from their existing holdings. After completion of the offering, Altice will own 70.3 percent of Altice USA's outstanding stock, equal to 98.3 percent of the voting rights.
Global IoT spending to grow 17% to USD 800 bln in 2017

Broadcom confirms takeover of Brocade for USD 5.9 bln

(Telecompaper) Broadcom has confirmed an agreement to acquire Brocade for USD 5.9 billion, expanding its position in the Fiber Channel SAN market. The company is offering USD 12.75 per share cash for Brocade and will also assume USD 0.4 billion in debt. The bid is a 47 percent premium on Brocade's share price of 28 October, the day before reports first emerged of a possible deal. The takeover is focused on acquiring Brocade's Fiber Channel business, as Broadcom plans to sell Brocade's IP Networking business.

Crown Castle to buy FiberNet for USD 1.5 bln

(Telecompaper) Crown Castle has agreed to acquire FiberNet for USD 1.5 billion cash. The deal includes certain units of NextEra Energy, all part of FiberNet, which owns or has rights to about 11,500 route miles of fibre installed and under construction in Florida and Texas, including 6,000 route miles in metro markets. Following completion, Crown Castle will own or have rights to 28,500 route miles of fibre.
Qualcomm to acquire NXP Semiconductors for USD 47 bln

(Telecompaper) Qualcomm has agreed to buy NXP Semiconductors for USD 47 billion, strengthening its position in the wireless market and create a new growth market in automotive. Qualcomm will pay USD 110 per share in cash for NXP, a premium of over 30 percent compared to NXP's share price a month ago when reports of a possible takeover first emerged.
