Polyester chain prices have continued rising in the past week, with the paraxylene prices once more surging. September ACPs prices have been set at sharply higher levels by paraxylene producers and their leading customers of the PTA industry in Asia. The polyester chain is experiencing a very fast and sharp increase of prices in China after PTA producers have dramatically raised their offers in the last four weeks. Downward fiber, spun yarn and filament fabric producers are however confronted with a fall of their margins which could end in a sharp drop of demand for polyester intermediates and a sudden decline of prices in the polyester chain.
