DUTIES The postholder will report to the Head of the Budget and Programme Financial Management Service and will be responsible for the financial control functions, in close liaison with project controllers in the Science and Robotic Exploration Directorate. The incumbent will be responsible for the analysis of the overall financial situation of the projects in the Science and Robotic Exploration Directorate and the preparation of the Directoratelevel financial status reports for internal and external publication. Specific tasks will include development, maintenance and consolidation of the full costatcompletion of all scientific projects in development and operations in close coordination with the project and mission management teams and with the Business Unit Controlling BUC team synthesis of all multiyear planning information, including workforce, procurements, cost and cash, as the focal point in the Science and Robotic Exploration Directorate supporting the elaboration and updating of the Science and Robotic Exploration longterm plan supporting the elaboration of the multiyear financial situation and projections, for regular internal and external reporting e.g. Programme Boards installation and management of commitment ceilings on all fundsfund centres defining and implementing uniform procedures for the multiyear control of the Directorate activities ensuring quality and coherence of the multiyear planning information in ESAs financial information systems participation in adhoc Agency working groups and boards where expertise in financial planning and control is required providing support to the other activities performed in the Office to ensure consistency and continuity in the Service and support to internal and external interfaces and entities as required. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field together with a strong background in business administration and controlling. A good knowledge of management and controllingrelated corporate information systems is required. A good knowledge of budgeting and financial processes will be a distinct advantage. The post also requires strong analytical, planning and organisational skills the ability to synthesise complex information excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating a balance of assertiveness with the ability to work well in a team environment a resultsoriented and proactive approach. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these two languages is required together with a working knowledge of the other language.
