Job Description We are looking for an experienced Operations Engineer to work as a consultant for our client ESA. You will provide support to the Mission Operations Definition Unit in the Solar System and Exploration Missions Division at ESOC and contribute to the definition phase activities in the field of mission operations for future ESA missions. This ability must be exercised within a multidisciplinary context in cooperation with other teams, covering several different data processing levels and instruments Ability to learn and develop the needed skills and knowledge to contribute to the definition phase activities in the field of mission operations. This includes the ability to rapidly absorb, and make use of, information presented in written and oral communications in a dynamic context Systematic approach to work, be able to plan the work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks and to write accurate and consistent technical documentation Familiarity with effective teamwork principles and team building aspects Desirable Skills and Experience Practical knowledge of the following will be a distinct advantage Knowledge of satellite or ground operations, or nonspace operational environments Familiarity with ISS operational procedures PODFs Familiarity with programmingscripting languages e.g., C, Java, Python Experience with Linux, network services and protocols, and system administration.
