For our customer, DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, we are seeking a Ground Segment Operations Engineer to support the Galileo Operations Project. Responsibilities The general activities are The Ground Operations Team is responsible for the overall management of Galileo GCS Operations at both GCCD and GCCI sites and the execution of GCS prime operations and GMS backup operations at GCCD, including activities related to encryption keys management. GMS backup operations is complemented with backup TSP and prime GRSP operations support. The scope of this work package is to fulfill the tasks of the Ground Operations engineer within the GSOp phase. This includes activities related to Ground Operations preparation, planning, executionsupport including oncall and shift duty or operations development as well as training. The scope of activities includes regular trips to GCCI and interface with other operations teams or DLR GfR customers. As part of the Ground Operations Team, the Ground Operations engineer contributes to the regular reporting, support milestones defined by the project and to internalexternal servicesactivities as defined by the Ground Operations and Ground Engineering Managers. This is a fulltime position to be located at DLRs premises in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, with the planned start date being midApril 2021 or ASAP thereafter. Qualifications Competencies In addition to having a university degree in a relevant field, you shall meet the following requirements Experience in ground system operations preparation, engineering, execution and troubleshooting, or its maintenance. Knowledge of navigation ground segment such as Egnos or Galileo, or other spacecraft ground segments. Comfortable using Linux Self Learner An advanced level of English is mandatory You will be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, able to work calmly and accurately under stress and able to work without supervision. You should have experience in all of these areas. With experience of the full lifecycle of spacecraft flight procedures, deep space missions and validation of ground segment systems you will ideally have carried out procedure creation, validation and simulations. The key person will be primarily assigned to the Mars Exploration Missions Operations Unit OPSOPX within the Solar System Exploration Missions Division but with the possibility of supporting other missions within this division. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Tests Preparation and Execution Preparation of Standalone Validation of each Ground Segment Elements, additional adhoc support to the system testing preparation. Execution of Data Systems testing and validation upon delivery. Definition and Execution of test procedures during IGST, SVT, DFT and other endtoend testing. FOP Preparation Writing and testing FOP procedures. Mission Phase Definition Mission phase definition, High level and Timeline planning. Spacecraft Performance Analysis and Reporting Task 33 Setup of tools and processes for regular generation of spacecraft performance reports and trend analysis.
