ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY This role is an integral part of the operations readiness of O3b mPOWER and subsequent and ongoing Operations group change across SES. The individual will work as part of the project Symphony team future operations design to ensure that all operational requirements are gathered and input to the various ongoing system developments across SES. Towards the go live of O3b mPOWER the individual will be critical in the operationalising and transition of all new systems and tools. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULTS AREAS Work very closely with the Operations architect and other members of the Project Symphony team and system teams across the mPOWER program to drive a robust set of operational requirements into system design and development. Provide, detail and own requirements into various ongoing system developments. This will also include detailed operational use cases for NOC L1L2 and Operations L3. Drive the operations input into the SES system level design. Drive the successful completion of operational criteria inside tool and system developments Create technical CONOPS documentation around the operational environment Collaborate with other functional leaders to ensure a seamless customer experience is understood and delivered across everything that we do. Support the training program lead in ensuring the right training material is made available pertaining to all tools and systems. Work closely with the enterprise architecture and IT functions to ensure a fully cohesive set of IT services and products are transitioned into operations. Position Reference 895 We are currently looking for a Flight Dynamics Operations Engineer to work for our client based in Darmstadt, Germany. This position will allow you to have a broad variety of responsibilities, from the execution of FD operations and the support to FD systems evolution to the participation to Change or Anomaly Review Boards. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Flight Dynamics operations execution for the flying missions this covers the execution of FD operations, the analysis of the operational FD performances, the maintenance of the FD operations, the contribution to the evolution of the operational FD systems and the operational validation of new versions of the FD systems. Flight Dynamics operations preparation for the future missions this covers the contribution to the development of the satellite and the GS, the preparation and validation of the relevant FD operations, the execution of related mission analysis and the participation to the LEOP, SIOV and commissioning operations up to transition to routine. Conjunction Analysis operations and operation preparations this covers the execution of conjunction analysis operations, the maintenance of the needed SW, the monitoring of the data quality and the preparation for future missions. Precise Orbit Determination operations and operation preparation this covers the contribution to the operational POD operations and to the maintenance of related SW, the monitoring of the quality of the received input data, the maintenance of offline POD capabilities, the preparation for future missions and the participation to reprocessing activities. New programs development in the domain of Flight Dynamics Systems this covers the contribution to initial preparatory phases of a Program and also the typical phases of a software development requirement definition, design, implementation, integration and verification. Maintenance and evolution of the Flight Dynamics Systems this covers the execution of corrective and noncorrective maintenance of operational flight dynamics systems as well as reengineering activities. This includes the actual production of the technical artefacts, followup of anomalies, the execution endtoend tests or participation in the associated activities andor the review of the technical artefacts produced as part of maintenance and reengineering activities. Other tasks Participate in team meetings, formal reviews Change Review Boards CRB and Anomaly Review Boards ARB where required. Contribute and participate to dedicated technical workshops, if requested. Undertake training identified as necessary to perform better. Become familiar and remain proficient with the FD, CA and POD facilities usage, setup and configuration. Working within the LEO Low Earth Orbit Spacecraft Operations Team of the Flight Operations FLO Division, the Spacecraft Operations Engineer will support the operations preparation and operations of the future Metop Second Generation satellites, as well as the routine operations and monitoring of the Metop First Generation satellites. The main areas of focus will be the Attitude and Orbit Control AOCS subsystem, as well as the management of Onboard Software OBSW and its maintenance process. Within the LEO Spacecraft Operations Team of the Flight Operations FLO Division, the LEO Spacecraft Operations Engineers support flight operations of the Metop satellites and the development and operations preparation of future LEO satellite systems, in particular EPSMetopSecond Generation.
