We are currently looking for a Payload Operations Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Payload Operations Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Human Spaceflight Directorate of the European Space Agency, you will have the following responsibilities Technical operations coordination between the mission operations service contract, the USOC service contract, and the support entities supporting operations to achieve integrated operations concepts Perform operations engineering activities for operations product generation and technical operations engineering work as required Reviewassess and coordinate with USOC andor ColCC, and provide operational assessment reports as required Provide supportrepresent the mission operations service at various ESA internal boardspanels and review boards as well as Space Station programNASA or other IP boardsmeetings as required e.g. Crew time working group, Attitude working group, 7 Crew working group Support the USOC and Mission Operations contract management as necessary, e.g. by attending progress meetings, division meetings and team meetings Provide operations engineering supportexpertise to projects in the CD phase, such as MPCCColKa Terminal and ALCS, with the goal to establish the operations concept in cooperation with the assigned USOC and the flight control team Manage and coordinate the creationdevelopmentupdate of Service Level Agreements SLAs for the mission operations service in close coordination with the USOCs, Mission Operations Service, training service and engineering and ground segment service Review and assess first time Experiment Science Requirements ESRs for operational feasibility and identification of new operational requirements Define establish and manage the Big picture status reporting for all ESA hardware onboard the ISS with regards to the operational status e.g. rack payload operations status, anomalies, etc.. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University Degree in a relevant discipline Experience in human space flight mission operations, with an emphasis on ISS and Columbus operations Ability to develop and setup processes in a multi international and industrial team, with a good knowledge of the ISS program and ESA Columbus program and operations processes Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Product and Quality Assurance Operations Engineer mf Tasks and Responsibilities The work will be performed at the European Space Operations CentreESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. This position, referred to as a PAQA Operations Engineer PAOE, is responsible for the support to the Sentinels missions as a member of the Flight Control Team FCT during the operational phases, including special operations in the areas of PAQA Operations Engineering support and will also participate to test campaigns. The position will include the following tasks and responsibilities Act as Expert Product and Quality Assurance Engineer, during Launch and Early Orbit Phase LEOP, Commissioning and Routine phases of the assigned Sentinels Missions. Configure and maintain the PA quality tools to specifically support the Sentinels missions ARTS and PA pages. Track and process all anomalies in the relevant ARTS databases, ground and spacecraft. Support ground ARBs and spacecraft MRBs, tracking all decisions taken. Maintain the product tree of each mission to reflect the evolving configuration baseline. Regularly reporting the FOS configuration and its baseline documentation using the Eclipse DCCM Collection. Organise and conduct the Freeze in view of critical operations Freeze Note CCB. Track and process all change requests in the relevant ARTS databases. Stimulate the regular assessment of FOS risks and reflect the update in the relevant risk registers. Stimulate the collection of lessons learned in the relevant ARTS databases after major mission phases. Survey document production and provide quality review documents on request. Keep uptodate the PA documentation PAP, CMP, RMP, DMP. Monitor compliance to applicable QMS procedures and support the team for every occuring audit. Attend agreed stimulation sessions and support the chasing of actions raised in the Debriefing. Support LEOP on console according to instructions from Flight Operations Director. The tasks to be performed require considerable initiative, flexibility and independence in executing the assigned tasks. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have as a minimum a Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline and minimum 3 years of experience in Operations Engineering activities. The following qualifications and experience are required Demonstrate experience with Product and Quality Assurance Missions in Development and Operations. Expert and operational experience on problem management process anomalies, nonconformances, review board. Expert and operational experience on configuration management process changes, baseline, freeze, deviations, waivers. Expert and operational experience on risk management process risk register, trend, acceptance. Expert and operational experience on documentation management process reference number, digital signature, template. Experience in working in an operational environment. Mastering of ARTS application in all roles and features. Mastering of PA pages application as Admin role. Experience in Eclipse DCCM with capability to manage collections. Experience in Sharepoint. The ability to work independentl, but in coordination with the HSO Quality Office. Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel. Capable to coordinate and interact with all other roles in the FOS team and with external interfaces. Fluent in English verbally and written. Familiarity with SCOS2000 at user level monitoring. Experience in HSO Quality Management System QMS, specifically on the procedures applicable to the Sentinels missions. Familiarity with ESOC working environment. Familiarity with ECSS standards applicable to ground segpment. Familiarity with ISO9001 standard quality. Familiarity with ISO9001 standard security. The position is located on site at ESOC. Experience in working in an operational environment. Experience with flight procedures life cycle, including validation. Experience with anomaly investigations. Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems. The ability to work independently with little supervision. Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel. Capable to coordinate and Interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Fluent in English verbally and written. Familiarity with operational simulators, ideally SimSat. Familiarity with TMTC databases, preferably SCOS2000 compatible. Experience in ground tests preparation and execution, e.g. Satellite Validation Test. Experience with ground segment integration and validation. Experience in validation and verification of Network Distribution and Interface Units or similar Electronical Ground Segment Equipment EGSE. Experience with anomaly investigations. Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems.
