The job For our activities at one of our Customers in Darmstadt Germany we are looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer. The successful candidate will be part of a team delivering an engineering service in support to the Customers Information Security Management System ISMS. Such support will include Systems Engineering activities as well as Routine Maintenance activities. In more details, the activities will include Obsolescence and compliance reengineering Reengineering of legacy network systems with respect to security aspects Configuration Support and Audit Identification and implementation of firewall management software Firewall rule audit and corrective actions Identification and implementation of compliance actions Intrusion prevention and detection, security monitoring Implementation Management of Next Generation Firewalls Design and implementation of Network security anomaly detection Identification and implementation of DNS log management and analysis Traffic management and recording Implementation and management of network flow visibility software Identification and implementation of softwarehardware solution for dynamic traffic sampling and replay Required skills and experience BS from an accredited university or equivalent and at least 5 years working experience in the design, implementation and maintenance of network and security systems Experience of complex systems with high availability and high security requirements in a 247 operational environment, preferably with large, distributed, heterogeneous IT environments Capability to work effectively in the English language, including the production of technical documents and reports. Responsabilities Duties The Engineer will provide support to the TPZVD ICT Engineering Team in the delivery of ICT engineering services to multiple clients. The work shall include analysis of the requirements design, integration, validation and documentation of ICT solutions handover to operations level 3 support for incidents and problems. Qualifications Experience A university degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent. At least 5 years experience as ICT Network Engineer. The successful candidate will have strong resultsoriented and planning capabilities, coupled with very good problemsolving skills and a pronounced customer focus. Applicants should have good communication and negotiation skills, be able to work in a diverse team environment and accomplish goals in line with team objectives. Essential Skills Experience with Cisco products and platforms ISR G24k series routers, Catalyst and Nexus series switches, ASA firewalls. Detailed Knowledge of Network Security Solutions such as IDP, IPS, Next Generation Firewalls Demonstrated capability to design Infrastructure solutions capable of fulfilling the security requirements as stated by the customer Desirable Skills ISO27001 certification or handson work experience in ISO27001based environments. You have good command on dealing with security systems, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, antivirus software, log management, authentication systems, content filtering, etc. You have in depth knowledge of o Information Security concepts involving incident detection, analysis, decision support and response o Network Local Area Networking LAN, Metropolitan Area Networking MAN or Wide Area Networking WAN technologies o Internet Protocols such as TCPIP, UDP, RIP, OSPF, BGP, SIP, SNMP, IPSec, SSL, TLS o End system architectures and operating systems such as Windows, Linux. o Virtualization technologies such as KVM, VMWare, open nebula etc o Open vSwitch OvS You have a professional qualification or certification such as CISSP. You possess strong interpersonal skills, team working, good analytic and problem solving capabilities. You have strong communication and documentation abilities. You are detailoriented. You have an analytical mind and problemsolving aptitude. You have effective time management and organizational skills. Germany publishes additional security requirements for network operators before 5G auction

(Telecompaper) The requirements refer in particular to operators of public telecommunications networks with a high potential threat, the Agency said in a statement. The essential elements of the new security rules include the sourcing of systems only from trustworthy suppliers that follow national security regulations and provisions for the secrecy of telecommunications and for data protection, constantly monitoring the network traffic, the certification of security-related network and system components (critical key components) by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and IT security checks by an approved testing body of the BSI.

Germany to set new security requirements avoiding Huawei 5G network exclusion - report
