Tasks and Activities You will be responsible for Command Generation for the Jupiter ICy moons ExplorerJUICE, but with the possibility of supporting other service andor missions. Key tasks Command Generation Execution of and support to operational tasks Generation of task related command parameters Generation of task related reports Mission Planning Support Execution of and support to operational tasks Generation of mission planning related products, such as schedules and planning input Flight Dynamics Application Layer primarily in the command generation domain Maintenance of elements of the Flight Dynamics Application Layer. Flight Dynamics System Development primarily in the command generation domain Specification of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Implementation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Installation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements on operational platforms design, coordination and implementation of tests Participation in tests Setup procedures Flight Dynamics SubSystem configuration Coordination of internal and external interfaces and actitivities across subsystems General Flight Dynamics operations engineering activities Specific Requirements In cooperation and coordination with other service providers, the service team shall conduct the following tasks 1.Routine command generation of all interplanetary and lagrangian missions in routine operations, including e.g. Mars Express, ExoMars TGO and GAIA. 2. Command Generation for science missions for critical phase e.g. planetary approach, planetary swingby 3. FD command generator design, development and maintenance 4. Launch preparation 5. LEOP and NECP support in the command generation domain JUICE, RSP and EUCLID. 6. GNC analyses. 7. Review of GNC documentation and inputs from SC manufacturer for Science missions. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory A University degree and masters in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics with exceptional academic record. Very good skills in linear algebra, calculus in one or several variables, numerical methods and classical mechanics. Very good C programming skills and experience, scripting languages and Linux operating system Fluency in English, both in speech and writing. Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously. Ability to work independently.
