Your Tasks This challenging position as Galileo Ground Control Segment GCS Systems Engineer comprises the following main tasks Support to Galileo GCS segment systems engineering activities, such as requirements engineering, project reviews, etc. Provide management support for the Galileo Spacecraft Constellation Control Facility, monitoring implementation, testing, verification and validation activities, and managing the acceptance activities Support to the GCS Assembly, Integration and Verification AIV Team, specifically in the area of GCS internal and external interfaces Support to Galileo Second Generation programme activities Your Profile Essential Skills University degree in a relavant field Demonstrated experience of more than 10 years in ground segment engineering activities Familiarity with the systems engineering lifecycle Experience in design and development of monitoring and control systems, specifically SCOS Knowledge of the Galileo Ground Segment Ability to maintain a systemlevel view and understanding Able to work independently in a trusted and precise manner with attention to details Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Fluency in English, both in speaking and writing Desirable Skills Familiarity with Galileo space segment Knowledge of the relevant ECSS standards Experience dealing with external interfaces The ability to multitask efficiently The candidate must be eligible to receive an EU security clearance. Position Reference 567 You will have the opportunity to provide engineering support to the Galileo System Security Unit in the Galileo Security Office. The main tasks include specification, design and security risk analysis of radio navigation satellite systems, with emphasis on security and cryptography aspects. You have specific and strong knowledge on Satellite Radio Navigation Systems, ranging and positioning techniques and technologies, including latest trends in robust PNT You have extensive experience in the design and development of large distributed security systems. You have specific knowledge in the design and testing of Radio Navigation systems and equipment. You have relevant experience with the GNSS1, EGNOS andor GALILEO systems and equipment and have and good knowledge of Radio Navigation simulation and testing systems. You have proven experience in the implementation, maintenance and operation of complex Radio Navigation simulation and test facilities for spacecraft, aircraft, maritime and land mobile applications. Summary An exciting opportunity for an experienced Radio Navigation Engineer to join the Telespazio VEGA UK team, working onsite at ESTEC, supporting the GALILEO Ground Mission Segment GSM Team. Objective To provide support to the Navigation Project teams, specifically GALILEO Ground Segment in IVQ activities, System Level Engineering, and GMS design. Responsibilities Duties The successful candidate will be supporting the GALILEO Ground Mission Segment GMS team in particular Participating in GMS related Integration, Verification and Qualification IVQ activities Evaluating GMS design, with a specific focus on GMS Operations and Operability Improvements, Galileo Services provision, Online and Offline Monitoring, System Reporting, Mission Support and Mission Processing, and evolutions of the GMS architecture and design eg. virtualisation, data centric processing, etc. Supporting GMS engineering activities, as well as Galileo System level engineering activities, such as requirement engineering, change management and baseline evolutions DCPsDCNs, assessment of contractors RFDsRFWs Contributing to GMS and System reviews. Supporting Navigation Projects e.g. EGNOS and GALILEO and RD activities in the fields of system and receivers performances for Ground Segment receivers and user receivers multifrequency and multiconstellation Supporting design, implementation, maintenance and operation of Radio Navigation equipment, complex Radio Navigation simulation tools and test facilities for testing features endtoend performances, receivers, etc. in the aforementioned activities Candidates must be EU citizens, eligible for security clearance from their national security administration. Essential Skills Specific knowledge on Satellite Radio Navigation Systems, ranging and positioning techniques and technologies, including latest trends in high accuracy and robust PNT. Experience in the design, development and testing of Radio Navigation receivers from professional to massmarket, including signal processing, positioning algorithms, Radio Frequency, multiantenna and sensor hybridisation aspects. Experience of implementation, maintenance and operation of complex Radio Navigation processing, simulation and test facilities for spacecraft, aircraft, maritime and land mobile applications. Desirable Skills Knowledge on EGNOS Overlay System, including the evolution to EGNOSv3 Knowledge on signal quality monitoring Familiarity with GNSS Android Raw Measurements and carrier phase based positioning techniques PPP and RTK Knowledge on virtualization and data centric processing Qualities Good English language skills Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment.
