The successful applicant will join Galileo Operations Bid. Please note that the work location will be Oberpfaffenhofen. The Galileo Global Satellite Navigation System GNSS provides global positioning capability by means of civil unclassified signals for mass market and professional applications as well as classified signals for governmental applications. The Galileo System Infrastructure consists of a globally distributed ground infrastructure connected by a global data dissemination network and a constellation of MEO satellites. The European Commission EC is the owner of Galileo and the infrastructure. The European GNSS Agency GSA on behalf of the EC subcontracts the Galileo Service Operation. The Galileo Service Operator GSOp has the responsibility to operate the Galileo infrastructure, to maintain the Galileo infrastructure, to monitor and manage system security, and to accommodate system upgrades and evolutions. Airbus Defence and Space has identified the GSOp tender as a key opportunity and is producing the Best and Final Offer by mid of August. We are intending to win it and preparing a very strong team across all our entities and sites combining leadership, service driven business and technical expertise. Reporting to Airbus GSOps Security and Accreditation Manager SAM, the Engineer will undertake tasks and duties as required to maintain Airbus GSOps compliance to the Security Operating Requirements SecOps, Local Security Operating Procedures LSOP and Galileo System Accreditation and Certification Plan SACP. The CSE will be specifically responsible for the application of operational security measures to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Galileo operational data. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Supporting and supervising penetration test activities undertaken by an independent body on Galileo ground segment equipment Providing expert analysis of the reports of such testing, to identify any potential vulnerabilities Providing Cyber Security expertise from an Operations perspective to support the development process for modifications to existing ground segment elements to deal with such findings Providing support to the integration, testing and handover from equipment developers to Operations, in order to validate the closure of any identified vulnerabilities Defining any specific maintenance requirements of the new configuration Assessing the impact on operational products and processes from any new configuration Defining any updates of the Ground and Space operational procedures as required Supporting relevant operational validation and training activities Planing and executing various Security Simulations The CSE will represent Airbus GSOp in meetings with the representatives of the GSA, supporting deployment and operation of Galileo Control System and Mission System and Network elements at the GCCs and other sites. This role will involve frequent travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
