ResponsibilitiesDuties A successful candidate will have the following responsibilities Reporting and analysing of mission performance compiling inputs for regular reports analysing of facility anomalous behaviour maintenance of mission performance tools maintenance of mission performance related documentation software configuration using XML. QualificationsExperience A university degree in a Science or IT related discipline electronics, physics, computing, programming, process control, ground station operations, is preferred. Mission Performance Engineer

Summary An opportunity for an experienced engineer to provide support onsite at ESTEC for Telespazio VEGA in Earth Observation Mission Performance Analysis. Objective To provide expert support both in Mission Performance and with processes relevant to E2E Mission Performance Chain in the EOPPEP Office. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to Support the verification of mission and system level requirements in the areas of Mission observation and Data products Support the procurement and acceptance of simulator, Ground Processor Prototype GPP and reference processors Support the payload team for aspects relevant to instrument performance requirements flowdown and instrument performance verification Support crossverification activities with the operational ground segment against the Ground Processor Prototype and Reference Processors Organise, draft the agenda and convene the meetings to achieve the objectives above. General Tasks Support Head of EOPPEP in the definition and promotion of generic approach and processes relevant to E2E Mission Performance Chain in coordination with other Mission Performance Engineers. Qualifications Experience Applicants for this post should have a university degree at least Masters degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant physical science, software or engineering subject, together with a demonstrated background and experience in managingfollowing software developments in a space project environment. The candidate must possess solid analytical skills, a proactive and flexible attitude, together with the capability to critically analyse the work performed by industry in the relevant areas, quickly identify the problems and proposeinstigate corrective actions. The candidate should also be able to organise and conduct meetings with different parties, assertively presenting results and facilitating convergence on technical aspects. The candidate shall demonstrate to be proficient with programming tools and languages e.g. C, C, Java and Python and at ease with modern software build systems. Position Reference 165 Based at ESAC facility, for the GAIA mission, RHEA is looking for a experienced scientific software engineer to work on specific platform as part of the GAIA data processing system CU8. CU8 will for the first time contribute, for a large number of stars, astrophysical parameters effective temperatures, surface gravities, stellar radii etc that have been computed from various data processing products of other CUs The main objective of the requested service is to build and operate a data validation support platform which will allow CU8 scientists to carry out all needed validation activities in preparation for Data Release 3 DR3. Also, knowledge of EUMETSATs Documentation Management Tool and Anomaly Report process would be advantageous. Additionally, the key person should bring good PC skills, with a good knowledge of the following Word Excel and Access. Experience in software coding scripting e.g. C, UnixLinux and Python for Report development will be considered an asset. The key person must have good interpersonal skills.
