Senior System Architect

For one of our customers in the Netherlands, we are currently looking for a Senior System Architect. Our customer provides high tech capital intensive equipment to original equipment manufacturer market leaders. Tasks and Responsibilities As a Senior System Architect you are responsible for the technical aspects of the development of a mechatronic system or subsystem. You are the technical face to the client and in consultation define requirements and qualifications for the system and development process. You will steer this development process on mechatronic aspects, in which multiple concepts will be developed and detailed with support of matching technical modelling and analysis. After design tradeoff, designers from the own organisation as well as staff from the technical suppliers will work together in detail engineering. Manufacturability, costs, reliability and technical performance are important aspects. Therefore you will play a central role in the final integration of prototypes and serial models, working in close collaboration with clients. You are also the first point of contact for questions from production, integration and service. What is unique about this role you can directly test your des ign skills on the most advanced systems and modules for various hightech manufacturers. Your contribution to projects is visible for both the internal organisation as clients. You can share your knowledge and experiences with your colleagues. Experience and education Completed Mechanical or Mechatronic Bachelor or Masters Few years relevant experience in design or specification of mechatronic modules and systems, like accurate positioning and manipulation on substrates such as wafers In your current position every day terms are precision mechanics, thermal management, low contamination, motion control, tribology, cost engineering and reliability availability You are accurate, flexible and eager Having good communication skills is very important in this central role in English.

A vacancy has arisen for a Mechanical Architect with Astrium in Stevenage. The key responsibilities of the role are as follows Management of the Satellite Accommodation Structure verification, Mechanical subsystems including structure, mechanism, booms both in house and sub contract. Team management of thermal and propulsion architects plus dynamic analysis and drawing office personnel. Provide guidance to CAD operators in order to generate drawings and documents for satellite integration. The architect will also have to interface with Integration Verification areas to resolve problems as necessary. Preparation evaluation of test plans and test reports. Maintenance of a data base of equipment mechanical qualification status. Within EADS Astrium we use separate departments specialists in the power, communications, instrument and payload design, product assurancequality assurance, electronics, stress and fracture analysis fields, but the mechanical architect requires an awareness of these disciplines. Present the satellite architecture to customers with the use of presentations and formal design review packs and meetings. Similarly the architect has to agree accept test results from the various phases of build subsystemspacecraft and where necessary defend these at customer delivery reviews. Management of the mechanical analysis team during satellite level environmental testing, including liaison to customer, launch service provider, test facilities and project management. Schedule and cost control using company software. Management of in house and subcontract costs. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience PC skills and relevant software experience e.g. FEM, Nastran. Presentation skills, verbal and written communication. Team Leadership Interpersonal skills. Degree in a relevant subject such as Maths Physics Mechanical engineeringAeronautical engineering. GNC Architect Guidance Navigation Control

An experienced GNC Guidance, Navigation Control Architect is required in the Functional Engineering Verification Department for the Exo Mars Rover Project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring GNC development activities are performed on quality, on time and on cost. The role will involve ensuring that GNC activities are properly coordinated across the whole project, that agreed schedule is maintained, and that all activities are successfully completed within the defined budgets. The key responsibilities of the role are as follows Responsibility for the Spacecraft GNC System Design, Development, Implementation and Validation Management of tasks to lead the GNC Engineering Team and GNC SubContractors, Interfacing with Customer Subcontractors Definition of Architectural Design and trade off activities, developing new engineering approaches and technologies, supporting to the procurement of the GNC sensors actuators, checking approving performance analyses, and supporting the Software and System Validation Verification with Hardware in the loop Analyse the Functional Verification test results and assess if the GNC verification is achieved Support the Software Architect during the Software reviews on items related to GNC Control GNC budget and schedule, define risks and risks mitigation strategies The role will require routine business travels, both within the UK and around Europe Extensive experience of spacecraft dynamics control Extensive experience of Design Validation of GNC algorithms Experience in Sensor Actuator development Flight Software knowledge TO APPLY click here
