We are currently looking for a Software Development Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Software Development Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities You will be developing the satellite ground segment. The position is related to the software Engineering of the mission planning system MPS and the central service element CSE, covering e.g. ground segment monitoring and workflow management. The position is dedicated to prototyping of MPS and CSE interfaces and critical components for feasibility analysis and architecture and specification refinement of MPS and CSE subsystem. Implementation prototype of REST Representational State Transfer interface simulator REST, Java 7 EE, Groovy Refinement of MPS and CSE specification Doors Support in defining MPS and CSE architecture Enterprise architect Support in set up of SW engineering Tool chain GIT, Stash, Jira, Jenkins, Gradle, Chef, Puppet Creation of detail design documentation JavaDoc as well as user documentation Creation and perform testing JUnit or similar, Arquillian Support integration testing and of virtualization setup Support in SW process automation testing, deployment. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Computer University Degree Java 8, Java EE 7 Expert, Deep knowledge in Application Server Technology is required RESTful architectures, WebTechnologies HTML would be a plus Knowledge in SW engineering Tools NetBeans, GIT, Stash, Jira, Jenkins, Gradle would be an advantage Knowledge in agile processes and tools e.g. JIRA would be a plus Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. JOB PURPOSE This role provides an opportunity to join a small and enthusiastic UK team developing instrumentation for several space missions, including a Lunar lander. The successful candidate will be an electronic engineer with a strong software background and a keen interest in space. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Responsible for FPGA VHDL related contents for implementation of robust digital hardware Support to subcontractor coordination Spacewire and other VHDLSW developments Responsible for the Electronic Ground Support Equipment EGSE Responsible for the design and implementation of waveforms generators and feedback control for precise scanning systems Responsible for the design and implementation of telemetry telecommand TMTC and data handling capacities for complex aerospace sensors Preparation of technical documentation including test procedures, design specifications and engineering change notices Development of simulator software modules representing instrument performance EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS University degree in electronic engineering or equivalent Excellent written communication Strong background in design and testing Experience with FPGA tools Xilinx, Actel preferred Able to independently apply engineering principles to complex projects relating to product or tool design DESIRED SKILLS Matlab or Python General knowledge on microcontrollers and digital electronics Control of imaging detectors CMOS APS or similar Familiarity with formal configuration control methods Experience working on militaryaerospace programs would be an asset Experience with ECSS standards Neptec offers a competitive compensation package to commensurate with experience.
