Path Gain And SAR Analysis Of On-Body Antenna Optimized For Hearing Instrument Applications

2014-02-11 16:54:49| rfglobalnet Downloads

This presentation describes the simulation of one proposed antenna, designed to permit communication between devices in each ear. The design was simulated in the presence of a homogeneous SAM phantom and an anatomically correct, heterogeneous head model. Since the antenna exhibits different performance characteristics depending upon the head model used, a parameter sweep was conducted to determine the optimal configuration for each model. The simulation results illustrate the differences between the head models, suggesting a heterogeneous head model will yield more acceptable results and will improve the safety of the device when used by real human subjects.

2014-02-04 10:37:28| Space-careers.com Jobs RSS

LSE Space is looking for an experienced Engineer mf in order to fulfill the duty as EPSSG EndtoEnd Instrument Chains Engineer for our customer EUMETSAT in DarmstadtGermany. The focus of the work is on endtoend instrument chains, from acquisition of signals by instruments on board the satellites up to dissemination of derived products to End Users by the ground segment. The selected keyperson would be involved in tasks such as mission performance allocations and budgeting, processing chain specification, approach for instrument calibration and product validation. The coordination with different teams involved in these activities plays a key role given the interdisciplinary nature of endtoend instrument chains. The keyperson would be a member of the EPSSG System Team in the Low Earth Orbit Division LEO at EUMETSAT. The tasks of these positions include in particular Mission performances Identification of contributors to performances radiometric spectral geometric allocation apportionment to elements of the instrument chains. Definition of approach for performance modelling review of adequacy of related modelling tools. Compilation and analysis of endtoend performance budgets, as needed collecting input from space and ground segment studies cross check against applicable requirements. Processing chains Definition of overall approach for the development, verification and validation VV of the processing chains as part of the overall EPSSG System. Identification of implications of processing concepts for System ground segment requirements, architecture and design. Identification of required tools and test data for the development and VV of the processing chains as relevant generation of technical documents to support tool development procurement. Support for the development of relevant tools and the generation of required test data sets Following up of validation of processing algorithms and of verification of processing chains in the ground segment as relevant for System VV of the endtoend instrument chains. Instrument calibration product validation Analysis of the implications of instrument calibration concepts for the System and ground segment and specifically for onground data processing. Support for the definition of the required infrastructure to perform tuning maintenance of calibration data and to validate generated products. In addition the keyperson will be involved in some more general tasks Regular review of System level documentation dealing with requirements, system concepts, architecture and design, technical analyses, to identify information of importance for endtoend instrument chains. In addition, and with the same aim, analysis of documents provided by other teams in EUMETSAT and by external partners. Support for coordination of interdisciplinary meetings of relevance for the instrument chains. Support for the preparation of documentation for System level reviews, during the covered period mainly the System Requirements Review and the Preliminary Design Review. Qualifications Experience Academic and work related requirements University degree in engineering, science or equivalent. Required experience and skills are Proven experience in the field of engineering of space andor ground systems. At least 5 years of direct involvement in the development of relevant instruments EPSSG satellites will embark sounders and imagers from the ultraviolet to the microwave range, a scatterometer and a radiooccultation instrument andor the related onground processing chain, with an indepth understanding of mutual implications. Good overall knowledge of instruments, the platform environment, processing algorithms, ground segment environment, to the extent relevant for endtoend instrument chains. Demonstrated ability to perform analyses of a System combined space and ground segment top down and to perform syntheses and compile technical budgets bottom up. Perfect command of English, verbal and written. The following experience would be additional assets Familiarity with the development of test tools and the generation of test data sets. French Location of workEUMETSAT in DarmstadtGermany. Benefits A permanent employment contract. Competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package. Career path.
