Job Description On behalf of the European Space Agency ESA, we are looking for a MicrowaveMmWave Technology and Equipment Engineer for their location in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, to join their Radio Frequency Equipment Techniques Section. Please note this is an external consultant position not a Staff position. Tasks and Responsibilities Contribute to the design, development and performance evaluation of RF equipment and technologies applicable to space and ground segments Provide expert technical support to ESA projects and programmes Development of test beds and characterization of RF EquipmentPayloads, such as Time frequency equipment e.g. clocks, oscillators, control units, frequency converters RF active equipment e.g. high power amplifier, low noise amplifier, MMICs, TransmitReceive modules RF passive equipment e.g. filters, switches, ferrite devices RF Payloads for GNSS, Telecom, EO or Science applications Microwave and mmwave test beds Life and TVAC test beds. Development of software e.g. Lab View for automated testing, control and monitoring of RF performance Contribute to the generation of innovative ideas in the field of RF equipment and technologies and to the definition of ESA RD programmes Define technical requirements and statements of work for the tasks to be performed by industry from early conceptual studies to full hardware development Contribute to the developmentusage of section related laboratory facilities and analysissimulation tools Maintain stateoftheart expertise by monitoring the technological trends and applying them in the daytoday tasks. Requirements Master or PhD in Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunication engineering with at least 4 years of relevant experience Good background on development of RF equipment and technologies for space applications Several years of experience in the field of testing of RF equipment and RF payloads for space applications Project skills and management of RD contracts The following are considered strong assets Extensive and proven experience in the domain of microwave components, equipment andor technologies Contributing to the design, development and performance evaluation of RF technologies applicable to space and ground segments, including Specification, development and procurement of RF equipment and subsystems Linearnonlinear, circuit and electromagnetic modelling and simulation Device, module, equipment performance evaluation and characterization. Providing expert technical support to projects and programmes Contributing to the generation of innovative ideas in the field of RF equipment and technologies and to the definition of ESA RD programmes Defining technical requirements for the new developments from early conceptual studies to full hardware development Contributing the to the developmentusage of section related laboratory facilities and analysissimulation tools Monitoring applicable scientific and technological trends For candidates with less than 10 years experience, please provide the relevant academic transcripts in order to give the TRs a more complete candidate profile at the selection stage. (Telecompaper) Nokia has announced that it is deploying its 5G radio, core and fixed network equipment on Vodacom South Africa's network. Vodacom is using Nokia's 2G, 3G, 4G and fibre access networks, as well as 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) and mobile broadband products. Nokia is supplying its AirScale, Fastmile and Subscriber Data Management (SDM) / Home Subscriber Server (HSS) products to Vodacom.

Telecom Egypt procures Ericsson equipment for international gateway migration

(Telecompaper) Telecom Egypt has signed an agreement with Ericsson for its international gateway migration using equipment to contribute to improving the quality of its services and developing the network to meet customers' future requirements. Ericsson will deploy its Network Functions Virtualisation Infrastructure (NFVI) with Ericsson Orchestrator to enhance the quality of fixed and mobile services provided by Telecom Egypt, reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO), and automate Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) to pave the way for new business models and enterprise services.
