Polyester chain prices have remained very firm on the international market in the last week, being supported by stronger demand in China which has pushed up polyester fiber and intermediate prices to higher levels in the country. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Asian Contract Prices (ACPs) are also available for the PX, PTA and MEG markets in Asia, with 5-year charts and downloadable historical data.

A helpline set up to monitor conditions in Bangladesh's garment factories by encouraging workers to report abuses using their mobile phones has received a total of 92,416 calls since its launch two years ago. But while the initiative is giving retailers and brands more insight into what's really going on in their supply chains, technology alone is not the solution.
