PTA and MEG prices have tumbled on Asian markets in the last seven days, being negatively affected by negative anticipations triggered by the US-China trade war. With paraxylene prices falling, however, PTA and therefore polyester fiber producers could lower their offers in the coming period. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Spun yarn prices are falling across the board in China after cotton fiber prices have begun sliding in the last two days. Cotton yarn futures are significantly falling, as a clear sign that spun yarn prices could now tumble.
