Polyester prices have stayed unchanged in the past seven days in China whatever the recent decline of material costs. Demand remains strong in this part of the year with too large stocks however limiting any price increase. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Polyester filament prices in China are also released, whereas the report includes a price comparison of polyester with cotton and viscose in China.

Cotton yarn prices have again increased in the past days in Pakistan, as demand remains strong from downward processors. Margins should further rise at spinning mills, as cotton fiber prices are no more moving. India Yarn Prices: Domestic and Export Markets (Weekly Report)

Cotton yarn prices have been slightly raised in India after cotton fiber prices have sharply rebounded in the past weeks. Demand from downward processors could however decline as a result, as already observed on the export markets where cotton yarn prices have been significantly increased, partly due to the rise of the rupee. Our review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester and 100% viscose. Major yarn production centres are covered with Tirupur (Tamil Nadu), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ludhiana (Punjab). Yarn prices are compared with fiber prices offering latest trends of spinners' margins. Market fundamentals are available on a monthly basis, including production and exports.

Viscose fiber and spun yarn prices have continued dropping in China with VSF however stabilizing in the past days. Cotton fiber and yarn prices are no more moving, but they could rebound after inventories will have been digested. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

Polyester intermediate prices have stayed relatively firm in the past week, whatever the fall of paraxylene prices over the addition of new production capacities in China. Operating rates are reaching record levels at polyester plants where profit margins are also further rising. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices.
