Spun yarn prices are no more falling in India thanks to stronger demand from foreign markets and a recent recovery of cotton prices. Production and stocks have steadily increased in the last months, as reflected by our statistical tables and charts. Our comprehensive review of Indian yarn markets covers the domestic markets in Ludhiana (Punjab) and Indore (Madhya Pradesh), with a wide range of products and counts, including cotton yarns (carded and combed), polyester spun, polyester-cotton, polyester-viscose and polyester-acrylic. Export market prices are also available for both cotton and polyester-cotton.

Polyester fiber prices have further declined in the last seven days in China, with filament prices more clearly falling than staple fiber prices. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) and Polyester Filament Yarn (PFY) prices on the domestic market, including a price comparison of polyester staple fibers with cotton and viscose. The gross margin of polyester spun yarn producers is also released.

Cotton yarn prices have continued falling in the past days in China, where the domestic industry is increasingly unable to compete with low-priced yarns from India or Pakistan. A radical restructuring of the spinning capacities and a shift to higher quality production in Xinjiang is being reported. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. Historical data are available for download.
