Polyester intermediate prices have sharply rebounded after national holidays in China, in line with the recovery of crude oil prices. PTA and MEG prices are no more expected to fall over the coming period whatever the weakness in demand from textile producers. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Eastern Asia and in India, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Asian Contract Prices (ACPs) are also available for the PX, PTA and MEG markets in Asia, with 5-year charts and downloadable historical data.

Cotton prices have slightly rebounded in the last week, mostly due to weather worries negatively affecting production levels in the current season. Prices could however stay at their new floor of 60 cents for a very long period of time, nevertheless. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and the physical indicator "A Index". Cash calf and feeder prices finally took a step higher this weekfrom mid-week onwardwith calves trading firm to $5 per cwt higher (instances of $10 higher) and yearlings bringing $3-$10 more. It seems too early to determine if a change in the market has found its bearings. The sharp move higher in cattle futures came without any positive news in the cattle markets.
