Deutsche Telekom signs 10-year contract with Telefonica for FTTH line access

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom said it has extended its contract with Telefonica for access to its broadband network for the next ten years. Under the pact, which applies in Germany, Deutsche Telekom will grant Telefonica access to FTTH lines with download speeds of up to 1 Gbps for the first time. Telefonica will market Telekom's FTTH connections to its customers.

Deutsche Telekom names former Proximus CEO Leroy head of Europe

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom announced that the former CEO of Proximus, Dominique Leroy, will be the new board member for Deutsche Telekom's Europe segment, effective 01 November. Leroy succeeds Srini Gopalan, who was earlier named the new head of the German segment of the business.

Deutsche Telekom launches MagentaGaming platform to compete with OTT services

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom has launched its MagentaGaming platform, saying the cloud platform has the potential to scale up and compete with major OTT services in the future. The platform will become a central point for international customers, rivaling other OTT services and becoming a relevant player in the market, it said. The company will showcase MagentaGaming at the Gamescom trade fair taking place 27-30 August. It will offer a Gamescom Special so people can try out games that are not yet available on the market.
