German regulator drafts new rules for Deutsche Telekom last mile access

(Telecompaper) The German Federal Network Agency has sent Deutsche Telekom a revised model contract for access to the last mile or local loop (TAL). The regulator's standard offer specifies the conditions and mutual obligations for access to Telekom's TAL. The new contract includes rules for parallel use of Telekom's in-house cabling ("end line") by competitors, and Telekom itself.

Softbank agrees T-Mobile exit in share sale, call option with Deutsche Telekom

(Telecompaper) Softbank Group has agreed to reduce its stake in T-Mobile US, selling around two-thirds of its stake to its co-shareholder Deutsche Telekom. It also gave the German operator a call option on most of its remaining shares in T-Mobile. Telekom plans to sell on the initial Softbank shares through a rights offering and trust securities.
