Responsibilities Duties Duties and main tasks may include but are not limited to Refine Telespazios Satellite Navigation strategy for UK growth and agree with relevant stakeholders. Refine current strategy in response to changing market conditions, e.g. funding for UK GNSS Represent Telespazio at relevant UK industry meetings including TechUK UKSpace, UKGNSS, RIN. Work with colleagues in other parts of the business UK and abroad and Space Alliance to develop strategic partnering for mutual business benefit. Develop interdependent partnering with relevant UK and foreign companies to win and to deliver UK, European and other business. To successfully win funding in line with the Satellite Navigation strategy. Seek opportunities where Telespazio can bid and win Satellite Navigation spacerelated and applicationsfocused work under ESA, European or UK funding lines. Seek opportunities to bid and win Satellite Navigation applications, product, and services work from commercial or other customers. Lead the Satellite Navigation team to create successful bids, drawing in other support as needed. To lead and successfully deliver engineering projects in line with the Satellite Navigation strategy. Lead the Satellite Navigation team to deliver relevant engineering projects, on time, on budget, and to an outstanding quality. Manage the Satellite Navigation team, seeking opportunities to grow the team and the capabilities and careers of the team Work with leading UK universities to exploit innovative research in the commercial market Potential Fields Downstream application activities may include High accuracy and high integrity GNSS applications in transport Rail applications including moving block signalling as well as less safetycritical applications and services Evolution of current mmlevel structural health monitoring product SUMMIT Upstream satellite activities may include Development of GNSS systems and operations for UK or European institutional customers Development of test and validation tools applicable to new GNSS needs. Qualifications Experience Recognised or able to rapidly achieve recognition as a leader of Satellite Navigation thinking in the UK. Experience interworking with partner organisations to deliver common goals. Team leadership Experienced networker in Satellite Navigation domain Familiar with UK Space Agency MoD ESA processes, bids and contracts Experienced system engineer including GNSS and wider Satellite Navigation systems experience Satellite systems or operations experience Awareness of UK GNSS, Galileo, security issues desirable Familiar with Rail domain including signalling desirable BSc or higher degree in engineering, science, maths or equivalent experience Programming modelling, particularly GNSS and satellite simulationdesirable Bid writing experience, preferably including multicompany bids either as Prime or Subcontractor Technical document, specification and report writing Essential Skills Team leadership ability to motivate and proactively delegate and manage team and partner organisations. Summary Currently seeking an experienced Radio Navigation Engineer to work onsite at ESTEC for Telespazio VEGA. Objective The primary purpose of the role will be to support the Galileo System Security Office within the Radio Navigation Systems Techniques Section on Galileo PRS Security. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but are not limited to Integration, Validation and Qualification of ESA PRS End to end Validation Tools in order to establish reference frame of tools Create and distribute test vectors to enable testing of PRS receivers under development Establishment and instruction of a PRS training programme, BASIC and ADVANCED, for any PRS Participant to undergo a Training Programme with ESA experts Establishment of a compatibility programme that enable any PRS Participant to either bring their PRS prototype receiver Support to PRS Test Benches whenever required by the ESA Galileo Security Office Support to Satellite Launch and in orbit test campaigns whenever required by the ESA Galileo Security Office Support to Galileo Initial Services regarding the implementation for the PRS Support to PRS test campaigns using the classified tools in the ESA Secure Navigation Laboratory. This includes Providing expert advice at found anomalies and nonconformances Preparation of the Navigation Laboratory Development of Matlab scripts for faster processing of data Processing test results, creating test reports MS Office and raising anomalies ESA in house tools Monthly reporting of measured parameters Qualifications Experience Essential Skills Masters or higher or equivalent in Telecom Engineering and signal processing or electronic engineering Minimum of 4 years industrial experience Strong knowledge on the design of satellite navigation systems, ranging and positioning techniques, RF and microwave systems, navigation system mission monitoring, and GNSS processing facilities. Knowledge of payload engineering and platform systems, experience with the GNSS and GALILEO systems and have good knowledge of Radio Navigation processing and simulation systems would be an asset. Candidate must be able to manage and coordinate complex technical discussions with diverse groups to achieve target goals within a compressed time. Candidates must be eligible for security clearance from their national security administration.
