EU clothing imports have grown at a lower pace in the third quarter, with unit prices rising from all origins in dollar terms. China has lost shares of the European market whereas Bangladesh was making small gains. Latest trends are reflected by our comprehensive review of 3rd quarter and January-September data per origin, from 2012-2017. A large number of statistical tables are published, with volume, value and unit value changes released in both euro and US$ terms. The full tables are also available for download.

EU clothing imports have rebounded in September, reflecting a surge of shipments from Bangladesh, after its unit prices have fallen. By contrast, Chinese shipments are progressively weaker, with unit prices of Chinese products no more declining. Our report covers monthly EU clothing import data, with historical trends being analyzed, and a specific focus on China vs Rest of World (RoW) and Bangladesh, and on knit vs woven clothing. Data are supplied in euro and in US dollars with historical data available for download, back to January 2000.

US apparel imports from China may have recovered in the first three quarters in volume terms, they have dropped in value terms with other countries gaining new shares of the market. China has also suffered a setback in many categories, in both volume and value terms. This is reflected by our statistical review comparing US apparel imports from China with shipments from Rest of the World (RoW) for every category of products, in volume, value and unit value terms. Historical data cover the first half of the past five years, from 2012-2017.
