Senior Engineer, Infrastructure Operations United States Mount Airy, Maryland Role description summary As the Infrastructure Operations Engineer you will own and resolve medium and long term operational and engineering issues that affect SES customer services and associated transmissions on the SES Satellite network, with a specific focus on systems supporting spectrum monitoring, interference management and ground infrastructure. You will identify process, improvements, and stay up to date on industry trends that assist the operational teams in enhancing customer service monitoring and working with SES groups or vendors to achieve the identified improvements. The Infrastructure Operations Engineer is also responsible for ensuring the correct installation, operation and configuration of monitoring equipment, systems and tools used by 247 operations teams, being a recognized expert in signal processing systems. Primary responsibilities Key result areas Develop a strong relationship with key stakeholders acting as the point of contact for escalated issues Maintain a high level of operational and technical knowledge for operational systems and act as the spectrum monitoring systems expert supporting 247 operations teams Liaise with SES operations teams in the planning and delivery of training, documentation, and troubleshooting procedures Liaise with Engineering departments for the specification, design, development, testing and acceptance of new hardware and software systems Ensure that operational tools used by Global Services controllers are appropriate for the tasks in hand Perform routine systems administration tasks to ensure that systems are kept up to date and fit for purpose Competencies Problem Solving Analytical Customer Service Selfmotivation Attention to detail Written and Oral Communication Team Player Qualifications Experience Minimum 4 years experience in customer facing satellite communications role Bachelors degree electronics engineering, radiofrequency engineering, computer science engineering, etc. preferred Up to 25 travel Advanced level of technical knowledge of satellite communications systems Good understanding of RF signal processing systems Good level of knowledge on IP Networking technology General knowledge of relational database management system RDBMS Whats in it for you? Required skills We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Knowledge of application deployment including clientserver components.
