Senior Engineer, Maritime Systems United States Manassas, Virginia ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Principal Systems Engineer, Maritime provides technical leadership and expertise in the area of satellite terminal development for SES Networks Maritime, Aero, and Energy market customers. The Sr Systems Engineer shall work closely with product development, multidiscipline engineering teams, and operations teams to continuously add new features and capabilities to these terminals. This role will be at the forefront of innovating how SES provides an unmatched customer experience.. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Provide technical leadership to subcontractors and vendors developing SES Networks compatible maritime antennas, RF components, baseband, Monitoring Control, and network equipment Provide technical leadership as the antennaRF Subject Matter Expert SME in a multidiciplined team to ensure timely product delivery Perform System Engineering design and analyses in support of the SES Maritime terminals and baseband systems development and implementation Develop and validate maritime terminal implementation, integration, and certification processes Lead development, deployment and performance optimization of advanced maritime terminal capabilities including antennas, modems and RF components Develop and support integration and testing methods and procedures for the Maritime Terminals at the component, subsystem, and system levels Provide System Engineering leadership in the deployment of Maritime terminals and systems at Customer facilities located worldwide Support the maritime team by developing and documenting requirements, specifications, interfaces, test plans Develop and support the Operations, Maintenance and Sustainment programs Develop forwardlooking architectures and designs that support implementation of evolving SES products and capabilities COMPETENCIES Customer focus Problem solving Selfstarter Oral and written communication Team player Leadership Prioritization Detail oriented Global cultural awareness QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE Required Seniority will be based on experience Minimum 1012 years of combined education and experience in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Expert experience in developing andor maintaining Maritime SATCOM systems, terminals, satellitebased networking data systems, or KaBand systems Expert knowledge of LinuxUnix operating systems Expert knowledge of internetbased network connectivity principles and implementation Fluency in English, other languages are beneficial 20 of domestic and international travel Preferred Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Expert experience in the telecommunications or satellite industry Expert experience in performance analysis of satellite communication systems, satellite terminal systems, satellitebased networking data systems, and KaBand systems Advanced knowledge of GEO, MEO, and LEO telecommunications satellite technologies and systems Advanced knowledge of MS Office package Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio Andvanced knowledge of Modem Platforms such as iDirect Moderate experience in Aero In Flight Connectivity Whats in it for you?
