DUTIES The postholder will initially be assigned as integrated support in the Galileo System AIV Unit, Galileo System Procurement Service, Galileo System Office, Galileo Programme Department, Directorate of Galileo and Navigation Related Activities and report to the Head of the Galileo System AIV Unit. The incumbent will be responsible for activities related to testing and verification of key functionalities of the overall Galileo system and will support the definition, organisation and execution of associated test and verification campaigns. The post will include responsibility for the following ensuring traceability between the System Design documentation requirements, DDF, etc. and the System Verification documentation RVMs, VCDs and test plans and reports defining and coordinating test plans, test cases and test procedures for system functional testing including monitoring and control, mission planning, time provision and synchronisation, and dissemination of navigation data supporting the planning of associated test campaigns in accordance with the System Integration and Verification Plan supporting the coordination and execution of test campaigns and preparing the associated test reports in support of the System Qualification Reviews following up the closure of System NCRs resulting from the tests in coordination with the Product Assurance Office ensuring proper implementation of verification information reviews, test results, engineering assessments, NCRs, etc. in the System VCDs proposing new methods, technologies and activities to be assessed in the framework of technology programmes in system verification areas participating in periodic meetings with the parent section and contributing to the transfer of technical knowledge and lessons learned across the Agency. In the execution of these duties, the postholder is expected to interface closely with the Galileo System and Segment engineering teams, the Galileo Operations team, the related industrial teams, the Test Directors and the Product Assurance Office. Since many of the activities relevant to this post will take place in the Galileo Control Centres, the incumbent must be prepared to travel on a regular basis. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalent in physics, electrical or aerospace engineering or a related field extensive experience of systemlevel testing experience in verification engineering background in space or ground system integration, testing and verification knowledge of Ground Segment and Satellite operations and infrastructure familiarity with the ECSS standards good knowledge and practice of standard informatics tools. Background and experience in navigation systems is not required but will be considered an asset. Candidates should have good interpersonal and communication skills. They should be able to work in an autonomous, effective and cooperative manner in a diverse, international team environment and to define and implement solutions in line with team objectives and project deadlines. In addition, they should have good analytical, organisational and reporting skills and a proactive attitude to solving problems. Applicants must be eligible and prepared to request security clearance from their national security administration. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these two languages is required together with a working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of another member state language is an asset. DUTIES The GMES Sentinel5 instrument is an element within the Agencys Global Monitoring for Environment and Security GMESCopernicus Space Components CSC Programme. It will be embarked on MetopSG satellite A, which is being developed under ESAs Metop Second Generation programme. The postholder will report to the Sentinel5 System Engineering Manager. Duties include responsibility for all AIV activities aimed at the timely definition, development, implementation, verification and qualification of the design and timely calibration of the Sentinel5 instrument, consistent with GMES Copernicus mission requirements, system interfaces and the technicalprogrammatic constraints of MetopSG satellite development. Responsibilities will notably include ensuring a lowrisk, lowcost and timeefficient AIV programme resulting in timely delivery of a fullyverified and qualified instrument reviewing and controlling the instrument AIV plans and schedule at system subsystem level and assessing their robustness, completeness, coherence and realism to ensure timely delivery of a fullyverified, validated and qualified instrument reviewing and controlling the instrument calibration plans and schedule at systemsubsystem level, in coordination with the Instrument Performance Engineer, ensuring timely delivery of a fullycalibrated instrument providing early warning of potential problem areas and ensuring that appropriate mitigation actions are identified and implemented. Estimating, at every stage of programme execution, the risks and benefits associated with any proposed deviation from the original nominal verification plan controlling and coordinating all Assembly, Integration, Verification and qualification issues at instrument and subsystem level, ensuring that a consistent approach to AIVAIT implementation is applied throughout the industrial consortium ensuring the industrial plans for integration, testing, facilities and associated ground support equipment GSE are fully consistent with technical and programmatic needs supporting the procurement process for all GSE elements and test facilities, including the review of procurement documentation, tender evaluation and participation in industrial negotiations, as required by ESAs Code of Best Practices supporting the procurement process for all GSE and test facilities required for instrument calibration, in coordination with the Instrument Performance Engineer maintaining close coordination with the MetopSG project to ensure a coherent and acceptable approach to AIT activities ensuring timely availability of industrial longterm storage plans and implementation of specific storage requirements and constraints coordinating with the Sentinel5 Product Assurance Safety Engineer for monitoring major tests and timely processing of NCR reports as appropriate supporting the Instrument System Engineering Manager in organising and conducting Sentinel5 system instrument reviews, in coordination with the Prime Contractor and relevant stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering field, together with extensive experience of defining and implementing AIV activities. Candidates shall have good practical and analytical skills as well as a demonstrated ability to work within a complex and highly interactive programme structure. AIV Manager Working on a 5kW Thruster project for a space client we are looking for an AIV Manager, the engineer for this role must have previous space experience of Assembly, Integration and Verification. This role is based in Northern Ireland. Tasks Establishment of AIV requirements in terms of model philosophy, verification criteria, test planning and execution. Support to project management for the overall satellite schedule reviewoptimisation, the risks identification, the selection and implementation of mitigation actions. Definition of all Test requirements test levels, test setup, test facility, success criteria, etc. as guideline for test procedure preparation and test execution. Review of test procedures and test results. Engineering support to Subcontractor technical management review of mechanical design, structural analyses, test plan and test reports. Creation of Assembly Integration and Verification AIV plan. This is not for a software AIV position but would suit any other AIV engineer with space experience.
