DEQ: Homeless man saw legitimate cleanup, not toxic dumping
2014-12-13 00:24:07| Waste Management - Topix.net
The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has concluded that the burial of material from metal drums observed by a homeless man north of Linnton about 15 years ago was a duly authorized cleanup, not an illegal dumping of toxic waste. As reported by the Portland Tribune Nov. 20, former Portland resident Norman Wicks Sr. and his son Norman Wicks Jr. grew suspicious when barrels kept accumulating on property under a BPA transmission line, and the drums later disappeared after a big trench was dug on the site.
