It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Software Test Engineer with Airbus Defence Space in Portsmouth. You will be responsible for creating and executing Test plans and test cases. You will be involved in all phases of testing Test planning, Execution, Troubleshooting, and reporting. You will analyse the software products in development to construct and deliver a test framework within Team Foundation Server and Lab Management. The software products Web, Windows application using Web Services SQL Server Databases are written using C and .NET4 from Visual Studio with TFS operating within the Agile Scrum development methodology. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Writing test cases and test plans for the project Executing test cases Investigating potential defects and discussed them with developers Logging defects during the test execution phase Reporting test results to the Scrum Master Organize and facilitate reviews, inspections, and walkthroughs of test plans Create the functional decomposition of applications as part of the feature testing and develop test coverage matrices to maximize testing efficiency Use optimization techniques to minimize the number of test cases and time and effort while maximizing test coverage Isolate root cause of defects and drive the resolution of important defects Participate in business requirements review sessions with the peers and business users Estimate time and effort for test development tasks and liaise with Product Owner to incorporate estimates into Sprints and provide timely updates of progress Generate technical documentation as required Using own initiative to suggest improvements and highlight where savings can be achieved. The role will encompass the continued development, maintenance and upgrade of the TFS testing environment already set up and functional using TFS 2012 then to manage the test backlog and undertake the testing activities. The successful candidate will have to integrate into the team consisting of Product Owner, Certified ScrumMaster and Developers contractors and permanent members of staff for product, system, unit and regression testing. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience B.Sc. or higher degree or equivalent in Computer Science or similar field, ISTQBISEB certification Advanced or Expert level CTELCTAL, Extensive experience in Software Testing Test Automation web sites, windows applicationservicesserver services, sql databases Experience with AgileScrum methodologies, Strong knowledge of MS Team Foundation Server TFS Experience with JiraHQ Quality Center could be an alternative. Experience with Windows applications, SQL Web Server orientated architectures and services Experience with C, SQL Server, .NET4, ASP Knowledge of testing products Selenium SpecFlow. Sentinel3 is a Low Earth Orbiting mission in the context of the Copernicus Services set up by the European Commission. The first satellite, Sentinel3A, is expected to launch mid2015 with the second satellite Sentinel3B operating in tandem and due for launch 18 months later. EUMETSATs monitors and controls Sentinel 3 satellites and generates near realtime and offline products to support the marine user community. PROFILE The Products Formats and Test Data Test Tools engineer shall support the Sentinel3 Operations with respect to EUMETSATs Marine Payload Data Ground Segment PDGS in particular anomaly correction and software release process maintenance and necessary evolutions, including the necessary coordination with the data processing systems engineering and the multimission element engineers for the related interfaces with the rest of the Sentinel3 ground segment. TASKS EXPERIENCE The engineer should have the following background 5 years experience in testing and maintaining product formats and formatters, test data and tests tools for large scale software systems missioninstrument data processing related. Experience in engineering evolutions of such software, test data and tools is also required. Knowledge and experience is required of software development lifecycles, system testing for Earth observation systems and use of test data and tools for supporting this, Knowledge and experience is required of formats and associated formatters used in Earth observation e.g. netCDF for marine applications and also used in other communities including HDF, BUFR and GRIB. As the successful applicant you will undertake a full range of engineering activities within the environmental test skill area. Your primary role will be to configure, instrument and perform test operations on space equipment using Vibration and Shock testing facilities to meet customer quality test standards and requirements.
