Space Applications Services is a growing company looking for a Senior Software Engineer with project management experience. The successful candidate will work on various projects for the European Space Agency ESA, National Space Agencies andor European research projects, in the space industry or related domains. Tasks and Responsibilities You will join the Control Data Centres Team of the Software and Data Systems Department whose activities cover the complete software lifecycle user requirements, specification, architecture, detailed design, integration, verification and validation for a number of projects. You will be initially assigned to the requirements identification and development of a webbased information repository that will be used by a Mission Science Office for monitoring scientific achievements. For this initial assignment, you will travel 1 day per month from our offices in Zaventem Belgium to our offices in Noordwijk The Netherlands, to collaborate with colleagues working in close contact with ESA. You will be responsible for delivering the technical products software and software life cycle documentation agreed with external Project Managers. You will be responsible for the planning of your projects, defining daily priorities, communicating with the stakeholders, and implementing the software products. Qualificationsand Experience A university degree or equivalent min. 4 years in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar, and at least 4 years of experience as Software Engineer in the industry. Excellent command of spoken and written English. Excellent analytical and communication skills ability to convert the complex requirements of scientific domain experts into clear technical specifications, as well as to communicate technical issues to the domain experts. Development experience in primarily GNULinux as well as Mac OS X. Experience in Agile development methodologies such as Scrum andor Kanban desirable. Knowledge in the following areas relational data modelling and implementation with MySQLPostgreSQL, database synchronization, RESTful web development with for example Django Python and JavaScript, single signon and LDAP. The Software Product Assurance Engineer SPA will support at PrimeProject level The Product Assurance Manager PAM for Software Product Assurance activities, The Procurement Engineers for the Product Assurance of the subcontracted software and the ASICFPGA design models. You will define the project SW PA baseline necessary to satisfy SW PA requirements, ASICFPGA PA requirements, and other projectspecific requirements. You will ensure that subcontractors proposals comply with the PA requirements related to software and to ASICFPGA. You will ensure that an appropriate system is defined and implemented by each SW subcontractor and equipment provider developing ASICFPGA, to obtain and demonstrate compliance to the applicable requirements. Contribute to the definition of ASICFPGA PA and the ASICFPGA designvalidationproduction requirements that will be made applicable to the subcontractor. Verify the compliance of subcontractors proposal SOC, ASICFPGA plans. Verify the correctness of the processes implemented by the subcontractor.
