DUTIES The postholder will report to the Head of the Quality Assurance and Management Section and will be responsible for the following activities preparing specific technical and programmatic requirements for projects within the framework of the ESA Product Assurance baseline providing expert support to projects, establishments and customers in the fields of Product Assurance and Quality Assurance, including monitoring suppliers performance evaluating suppliers proposals, plans, specifications, analyses and records, and recommending actions to be taken liaising with designated organisations for the coordination of Product Assurance support participating in reviews and audits of ESA projects and activities, including systematic followup of actions supporting internal quality management representatives and implementing quality assurance activities within ESA, including the identification, implementation and followup of corrective and preventive actions supporting the establishment and implementation of standards and internal procedures for Product Assurance and Configuration Management where appropriate, providing training related to Product Assurance methods and procedures to ESA staff collecting, evaluating and disseminating qualityrelated information for the prevention of problems. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a university degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or technical sciences together with several years of experience in Product Assurance and Quality Assurance, preferably in the aerospace domain. Experience with the application of industrial Product Assurance tools is required. Candidates should have good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a diverse and international team environment and to define and implement solutions in line with team objectives. In addition, they should have good analytical, organisational and reporting skills, a proactive attitude to solving problems and an interest for innovative technologies. A Software Product Assurance Engineer role has arisen with Astrium in Stevenage. The Software Product Assurance Engineer SPA will support at PrimeProject level The Product Assurance Manager PAM for Software Product Assurance activities, The Procurement Engineers for the Product Assurance of the subcontracted software and the ASICFPGA design models. You will define the project SW PA baseline necessary to satisfy SW PA requirements, ASICFPGA PA requirements, and other projectspecific requirements. You will ensure that subcontractors proposals comply with the PA requirements related to software and to ASICFPGA. You will ensure that an appropriate system is defined and implemented by each SW subcontractor and equipment provider developing ASICFPGA, to obtain and demonstrate compliance to the applicable requirements. Typical tasks include For general Software Product Assurance Prepare and maintain the Software Product Assurance Plan SPAP. Interface with PAM and Customer on all subjects related to SW PA. Manage the Product Assurance actions list related to software. Participate in Project and Quality progress meetings as necessary. Participate in project risk identification and analysis. Support or participate in reviews performed at system level that include software aspects. Control software related documents produced by the system engineering team. Support to the Software Architect regarding Independent Software Verification and Validation ISVV activities, if any. Support the configuration management established at system level and related to software e.g.CCB. Provide adequate reporting. Provide a Software Product Assurance Report for each system review. For Product Assurance of the subcontracted software Coordinate with the procurement engineer. Produce the Software Product Assurance Requirements SPAR. Participate in the drafting of the SOW. Verify the compliance of subcontractors proposal SOC, SQAP, SCMP, SRF. Perform preventive and corrective audits of the subcontractor as necessary. Contribute to the definition of ASICFPGA PA and the ASICFPGA designvalidationproduction requirements that will be made applicable to the subcontractor. Verify the compliance of subcontractors proposal SOC, ASICFPGA plans. Verify the correctness of the processes implemented by the subcontractor. Support ASICFPGA or equipment reviews with the subcontractor, including involvement of ASICFPGA experts when relevant EADS Recruitment Centre Applications should be made via the EADS website. The Key Person shall provide support to Prime Contractor staff in conducting, monitoring and assessing the implementation of the Solar Orbiter PA and Safety plan in accordance with ECSS requirements.
