We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to work in the beautiful city of Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Implement EUMETSAT QA policies in the assigned areas, in accordance with the Programme specific QA plan for all phases covered by this SoW and the relevant contract Update the specific QA plan, as needed Manage and support the Anomalies Review Board ARB and Nonconformance Review Board NRB Provide service to the definition of QA procedures Provide QA service for the implementation of processes focussed in the area of the Ground Segment procurement, as needed Provide service to the regular monitoring of established metrics on the main processes Provide QA service to development activities Preparation and service to the organisation and execution of project reviews Provide QA service to the Integration Verification and Validation activities Provide QA service to the implementation of the Risk Management process Provide QA service to the collection of Lessons Learned Provide QA service for the implementation of Configuration Management processes Provide service to the QA Manager on Programme specific QA aspects and brief the QA Manager on the main issues identified. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree and a background of at least 5 years in space systems spaceground segments with at least 3 years of experience in project QA positions. Sound handson experience in QA processes definition, implementation, monitoring and control Sound handson experience in risks management and lessons learned processes Sound experience in a rational application of quality international standards e.g. ISO and ECSS Sound handson experience in managing, reporting and following of procured items Knowledge of project management and project planning, possibly including the ability to identify and report on critical paths Some knowledge of requirements management tools, e.g. DOORS Ability to draft management reports and executive summaries in English Sound handson experience of working on collaborative programmes involving different partners Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Good interpersonal skills, including mediation skills Very good attitude to team working Fluency in English. Summary A great opportunity for an experienced PA Engineer to join the Telespazio VEGA UK team, working on customer premises in the Netherlands. Objective To support and contribute to Product Assurance PA activities for assigned missions and projects, as well as contributing to, and promoting, good practice widely within the organisation. Responsibilities Duties The successful candidate will be expected to Provide PA Safety support to assigned activities Review test procedures and test reports Witness test executions and report on the status and major issues Participate in TRRs, PTRs, TRBs Support configuration inspections as needed Support the process for evaluation and approval of contractors waivers and deviations and the preparation of System waivers and deviations Contribute to the identification and processing of nonconformances and to the proceedings of Nonconformance Review Boards NRB Participate in Project Reviews at System level, and at Segment level when requested, by reviewing documentations, raising comments and RIDs, discussing them with industry and providing feedback particularly on major critical areas. This involves supporting the procurement process, generating PAS requirements for the activity, participating to activity reviews, monitoring the contractor supply chain, and supporting Technology Readiness Assessments TRAs in coordination with the TO. Support the design, development and maintenance of the ESA Technology Readiness TRL Calculator application. This involves collecting feedback from users, building up a backlog of requirements, monitoring the implementation of requirements, participating in release reviews, and following up the maintenance of the application. Define, initiate and support RD activities of the Product Assurance Management Section in the fields of product and quality assurance requirements, techniques, methodologies and tools, covering both long and shortterm needs Support the dissemination of the results of the activities performed and the transfer of knowledge in the area of PAS support to ESA Technology Programmes Produce reports on PAS and RD support activities, including conclusions and recommendations where necessary. Qualifications Experience University Masters Degree or equivalent in a related discipline. A minimum of 10 years experience in the space sector, including 5 years in Product Assurance Knowledge and experience working with Technology Readiness Levels TRL and their use in space RD activities Essential Skills Excellent interpersonal skills, together with a high degree of organizational and communication abilities, and comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment.
