ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY As the Senior Engineer, Satellite Telecommunications Systems you will be responsible for an endtoend usercentered process that translates business requirements stemming from the customerfacing entities and corporate development areas into technical systems that are centered around or include satellites. You will translate customer business needs into a system concept that includes planning and implementing solution sets based on MEOGEO infrastructure. These efforts will include cost and price efforts with scheduling of the system. You will also assess the performance at every step of the system implementation and collect lessons learned for future implementations. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULTS AREAS Define measurable parameters that reflect the systems performance and customer requirements Partition and apportion overall system requirements into the various system components Determine and allocate resources needed to accomplish system design and implementation Create and control technical project to design, implement and operate the system Perform tradeoffs of different architectures according to customer requirements Support internal customer in meetings with external customers to assist and provide technical solutions Act as System Architect, Account Holder, andor System Designer of space and terrestrial systems Perform due diligence, validation tests, and audits on prospective and existing suppliers of space and ground assets Partner with corporate development, customerfacing entities, and the other teams Execute studies to pave SESs path to the business expansion and diversification Stay up to date on industry best practices and implement innovative solutions Mentor, coach, and train team members COMPETENCIES Analytical Innovation Team work Selfmotivated Facilitation Prioritization Tenacious Problemsolving Verbal and written communication Global cultural awareness QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE Required Seniority will be based on experience Bachelors degree in telecommunications or related field 810 years of experience in telecommunications A combination of education and experience will be considered Experience in the satellite industry Experience facilitating feedback sessions Knowledge of project financial structures Proficiency in English, other languages beneficial 25 international and domestic travel Preferred Masters degree in telecommunications or related field Project management or Agile Certification Experience with satellite manufacturing Knowledge of satellite and associated technologies, telecommunications networks, digital signal processing, RF transmission systems and utilization Apply HERE

Main Responsibilities For each supported mission, the following tasks shall be performed Coordinate the internal external support to PLS ESA Space Segment Development Team, TEC experts, Mission Analysis System Support, Industry Coordinate with the ESA Space Segment Development Team where relevant to Exchange technical status on the flying and nonflying satellites, identifying Coordination issues of relevance and following them to conclusion Support PLS at the regular weekly Operations Boards Support the Operations Teams by providing or facilitating responses to technical support requests from either the Flight Operations Segment FOS or Payload Data Ground Segment PDGS Maintain distribute the PLS OnCall lists to the FOS other parties where relevant in a timely manner Support the Mission Manager and hisher team by providing technical advice Related to issues of Satellites performance Support the Space Segment Development Teams by providing timely pertinent feedback on any issue detected inflight with potential impact on satellites still under development Provide specific technical expertise to support Performance Monitoring, Analysis Optimisation tasks and Anomaly Investigations, with overall aim to improve mission quality andor lifetime Preparation of Technical Documentation, such as Reports, Technical Notes and other requested documentation Review and synthesis of Technical Reports and documents produced by Industry, and extraction of relevant technical information for use in generation of PLS Performance metrics and reports Organise and support the 6monthly Satellite InOrbit Performance SIOP Technical Meetings in cooperation with the Industrial Prime contractor, including associated followup activitiese.g. administration, actions follow up etc Respond to Anomaly Warnings received from the Flight Operations Segment FOS in an appropriate timely manner, providing support and facilitating the necessary followon actions Support and lead complex investigations that arise as a result of satellite performance and anomalies, ensuring adequate coordination with involved partners Mission Management, Operations Teams, Industry, Space Segment Development Teams, Management Prepare, coordinate followup on engineering requests for the Industrial contractors in support of Anomaly Investigations and other technical analyses Support satellite configuration control including the Configuration Control Board CCB Support Satellite Decommissioning Disposal activities as required Monitor, track and report the status of activities performed by the Industrial contractors in support of the PLS function technical, commercial and schedule status Review commercial payment requests the associated justifications submitted by Industry regular milestones or as result of adhoc Cost Reimbursement activities Bring innovation to satellite performance analysis by investigating emerging technologies that enhance the ability for early detection of performance trends and deviations maintain the relevant PLS technical records, databases documentation in accordance with established procedures Maintain a regular reporting in coordination with the Technical Officer. The requested support covers Coordination of interface with PLS Support partners with Management Providing support to operations Teams Performing technical review, analysis, synthesis Reporting of Satellites Performance Anomalies Organisation coordination of PLS Meetings Reviews Supporting PLS at a number of other Meetings Reviews Responding to Satellite warnings anomalies The Ideal Candidate The following skills are requested of all personnel providing support within the service Fluent English language oral and written Autonomy in writing technical notes, specifications and reports in English Good interpersonal skills and team spirit Demonstrable multidisciplinary or systemlevel experience in the satellite engineering domain Previous working experience in a multinational environment is desirable and Very good knowledge of MS Office tools. Activity required skills The personnel allocated to these tasks shall have the following key skills University degree in a relevant Engineering discipline Minimum 10 years of experience and a significant background in one or more of the following domains Satellite Operations, Spacecraft Development including Project Engineering, EquipmentSubsystem Procurement, Assembly Integration Test Minimum 3 years experience working as a System Engineer or with a System Coordination function in any of the above domains Good understanding of the Satellite Phase E2 Routine Operations Organisation and the typical activities performed Good understanding of the factors affecting the short and longterm performance of Satellites and their main subsystems or payloads Proven experience ability at working in an environment with multiple external interfaces Good at working in a team and a proactive attitude to solving problems Important Any offer of employment is contingent upon you providing documents to verify your identity and employment eligibility, as required by law.
