The job For our activities at one of our Customers in Darmstadt Germany we are looking for a CISCO Expert mfd. The successful candidate will be part of a team delivering a network engineering service in support to the Customers activities. The main network platforms under the scope of this engineering service are currently Cisco Catalyst Switches c2K, c3K, c4K, c6K, c9K Cisco Nexus Switches Cisco ASA and Firepower Firewalls Cisco ISR and ASR Routers Cisco Load balancer Cisco WAAS. This may change over time given the ongoing system evolutions and the changes in the network hardware and systems market. The support will encompass design, deployment and expert advisory services. These services will include Design HighLevel Design HLD describes all major components of the solution and how they conceptually work together. It includes the architecture for the proposed implementation including platforms, systems, services, and processes including scalability and performance characteristics of the proposed solution. LowLevel Design LLD creates a design document with all the details needed for the implementation of the highlevel design including configuration, security, performance, and scalability parameters. Proof of Concept PoC delivers a scaled model of the working solution before it gets deployed on the larger scale Deployment Stage, installation, configuration and integration of the network equipment Testing and handover of the deployed network solutions Expert advisory This service includes the provision of expert advice based on industry best practises and consulting service in the selection of, implementation and transition to new architectures and technologies Required skills and experience The successful candidate will be hired with the level of either Engineer or Senior Engineer. The required skills and experience to be hired as an Engineer are a Cisco CCNP certification and proven relevant working experience of at least 5 years. working knowledge in several of the platforms listed above under the scope of this service and shall be a Subject Matter Expert in at least one of these the capability to work under general supervision To be hired as a Senior Engineer, the requirements are a Cisco CCIE or multiple CCNP certification demonstrated, relevant working experience of at least 10 years high level of technical knowledge and creativity the capability of working mostly independently with minimal supervision Regardless of which level, the successful candidate shall be able to work effectively in the English language, including the participation in technical meetings and boards and the production of technical documents and reports. Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the EUMETSAT Infrastructure and Network Services Team, you will have the following responsibilities The candidate will perform design tasks based on customer defined requirements, within the full engineering cycle of a design process via HighLevel Design, Low Level Design and Proof of Concept. Each step will be subject to specific deliverables and acceptance procedures. Technical planning, physical installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment. Technical assessment, design, and implementation services ensure that the technology is properly installed, deployed, and optimized. Configure and integrate systems, networks, communications, and any other required components specified in the lowlevel design. Execute postinstall and prior to live commissioning of the system, either at the customers site or in an appropriate staging environment. Provide advice to the customer based on industry best practices. Skills Experience A university degree in computer science, information systems or computer engineering. Experience working with the following network platforms Cisco Catalyst Switches c2K, c3K, c4K, c6K, c9K Cisco Nexus Switches Cisco ASA and Firepower Firewalls Cisco ISR and ASR Routers Cisco Load balancer Cisco WAAS. The candidate shall possess relevant experience in the field of system administration, engineering and deployment of Cisco Systems network equipment and network solutions.
