.A vacancy for a Online Content Editor Earth Observation has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Guildford. You will be responsible for the provision of a service supporting the management and update of web content for the users through the European Space Agency. You will ensure the accuracy, relevance and topicality of the web content provided. You will response to website owners requests for updates to either the content or online tools of the specific websites. You will ensure the assessment of the web audience requirements, make recommendations for both enhancement and tailoring of the provided web services.Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Editing of materials provided by both ESA and ESA managed projects through to the publication on either the relevant website or online portal. Authoring of small articles which can put into context or introduce additional detail into the provided material. Preparation of images, artwork or photographs for inclusion in web publications. The management of ESA social media channels to develop and expand online communities. Checking of content of websites which fall under the responsibility of the ESA EOP Website contract, including the removal of broken links, the repair of broken functionality and ensuring that the general appearance of websites is of a suitable standard. The management of historic websites and the review of their potential transfer to the current online content system. Routine and thorough research into user taxonomy, current usage trends and analysis and estimation of changes to the usage in both the short and long term. Recommendation for the evolution of websites in response to user needs in terms of content, look and feel and the available technologies. Working with ESA to ensure the overall online presence meets the expectation and needs of the user community. Preparation and maintenance of working instructions required to perform the tasks required in support of the service delivery. Preparation of reports and statistics for inclusion in the regular reporting provided to the Agency. Immediate reporting of issues on the availability and function of the websites and portals.We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to degree level in a relevant subject. Intermediate knowledge of HTML CSS. Experience with Image editing, Proof reading. Experience with managing Social Media. Experience of using CMS Liferay knowledge preferable. Knowledge of ESA and Earth Observation would be a plus. Within the Bidding and Future Programmes department for ground Observation and Navigation systems, you will be responsible for one or more tenders for major Earth observation systems for Export clients. Your post may develop towards the management of ground segment projects within the Project division. This position requires security clearance or needs to be eligible for an accreditation by the recognised authorities. You must ensure the coordination of the tender, consisting of the technical and functional definition part, the drafting of the tender, the production of the quotation and the risk analysis. The Space team at Airbus Defence and Space, based in Guildford, are focused on the exploitation of Earth Observation EO data, primarily acquired from spacebased platforms. The scope of work undertaken by the team includes large space infrastructure projects, operational services supporting the uptake and exploitation of EO data across Europe and the downstream exploitation of EO data including the development and delivery of EOenabled products and services.
