I love cattle. Always have, but it's not the same love I have for the dog or the horse. Cows are not cuddly, if you know what I mean?

8 y/o Arabian/Quarter Gelding - Super Cute & Very Smart
2017-06-19 11:55:21| Equine Now Classified Ads
Due to having absolutely no time I must sell Ben. He is an 8 yr old 14.2 hand Arabian cross gelding. Super smart and personable. Experienced Rider Only. He was broke as a 5 yr old but is still very green. I have not worked him for about 1.5 yrs due to a pregnancy and the birth of the baby. He is up-to-date on vaccines, coggins and west nile. Is on a every two month rotation deworming cycle. Teeth were done in April. Stands for ferrier. Will trailer within a reasonable distance. Here are some things about Ben: He is a very healthy horse on a very healthy diet. He is grained once a day with Safe Choice, KAM Enzymes, Equi-Shine, Flaxseed, Beet Pulp and Apple-Cider Vinegar along with hay and grass. I don't expect anyone to continue this diet but this is what we feed. He had his teeth floated in April. He has a current negative coggins and has had his vaccines ( Equine Influenza, Eastern and Western Encephalomyelitis, Rhinopneumonitis Vaccine and Tetanus Toxoid Vaccine) along with the West Nile Vaccine. He gets a paste de-wormer every 2 months. His feet are being trimmed using the natural hoof care technique. He is a little dancie with clippers from the tickle but a little twitching of the nose takes care of that. I did board him for 4 years before we bought property so he has been with a large herd. He was stalled at night there but he is currently out 247 with a run-in to get under if there is bad weather. He is very sweet and loves people. I bought Ben as a 2yr old to be a project horse for me since the mare I bred lost the foal. I hopped on him as a 5yr old and worked with him on his walk and trot. He has never reared or bucked under saddle with us. My daughter and step-daughter also rode him and he was on a trail ride with a group one time. We moved in the fall of 2008 and I was pregnant beginning 2009 so he has been just a pasture pet since the move. I work full-time, went back to college full-time, now have the baby and have zero time to work with Ben. He's a great horse with a ton of potential and just needs someone to consistently work with him. I'm sure it won't take much work to get him back in action. He is super smart and catches on to things quickly. My main goal is to find Ben a loving home that will take excellent care of him. It is a difficult decision to sell him but I know it is what's best. All he is doing is wasting away roaming a pasture when he could be doing so much more. I will be giving his bridle and a brand new all-purpose english saddle, size 17.5 with him.
