Moreover, we actively manage your professional development, training and career progression. We are looking for two Mission Control Operations Engineers to work at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks Within the Operations Department, the Flight Operations Division FLO is charged to conduct space system flight operations, addressing flight dynamics and mission analysis, mission planning and mission control aspects to safely maximize the mission return. Within FLO, the Mission Control Systems Team is responsible for the operation of all operational mission control systems. As members of the FLO Mission Control Systems team, the Key Persons shall provide support to the development and operation of the EPS Overall Ground Segment OGS. Main duties are the operation of the EPS Monitoring and Control System MCS, the operational use of Mission Control Facility MCF Tools, and mission controlrelated multimission tools. The roles of the Key Persons comprise a range of tasks including the provision of support to the routine operation of the EPS MCS, and the interfaces between the MCS and other components of the EPS Core Ground Segment CGS. In addition, the Key Person will acquire and maintain a Systemwide view of the EPS CGS and OGS, particularly in the areas of system monitoring control and data flows, due to the central role the MCS plays in the EPS System. The Key Persons shall also provide support to the system development and operations preparation activities for future EUMETSAT programs, providing operations experience to system and operations concept implementation. The Key Persons will, between them, perform the following tasks Support routine operations Definition and maintenance of missioncontrol operations procedures, including system and ground segment procedures and operations guides Liaison with the spacecraft operations team to ensure the continuity and optimisation of spacecraft monitoring and control activities Liaison with the operations analysts to ensure continuity and optimisation of database related activities Interface with other facilities within the operational ground segments to ensure the continuity and optimisation of ground segment and mission monitoring and control activities Interface with external elements of the operational ground segments to ensure the continuity and optimisation of data exchanges with the mission control systems Interface with the mission control systems maintenance team and industry representatives to ensure optimised performance, including participating in the definition and implementation of any changes Provision of support to operational ground segment analyses Provision of standbyoncall support as part of a team of MCS engineers Provision of support, as required, to critical operations Processing of system anomalies, their documentation, investigation, classification and resolutionmitigation, including participation in Anomaly Review Boards Participation in further technical meetings, formal reviews, and scheduling and planning meetings. Support modifications to the operational systems Interface with project teams on the implementation of system upgrades to support major operations projects, including System MidTerm Evolution Plan, recurrent satellites, and any system hardware and operating system obsolescence upgrade. Processing of system modifications, including their documentation, approval, and implementation, including participation in Change Review Boards Support to, and participation in, the functional verification and operational validation of mission control systems and related elements, both standalone and in the context of an overall ground segment. Support the preparations for recurrent satellites and future satellite programs Provision of support to the development, system and ground segment verification and validation, and operations preparation for recurrent satellites in existing operational programmes, in particular MetopC Provision of support to the development, system and ground segment verification and validation, and operations preparation for future operational programmes such as Sentinel3, Sentinel6, MTG and EPSSG. Support to operations teams Provision of training, through written materials, practical demonstrations and presentations, to other members of the Operations Team. Essential requirements In addition to having a university degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline, the Key Persons shall have the following mandatory attributes At least five years experience in the operations preparation and routine operations of spacecraft mission control systems for Geostationary GEO andor Low Earth Orbit LEO satellite systems At least three years experience defining and implementing the verification and validation of spacecraft mission control systems At least three years experience interacting with flight dynamics and mission planning functions and systems as applied to satellite operations At least three years experience with the application of ECSS and CCSDS standards for spacetoground interfaces, Satellite Monitoring Control Systems Packet Telemetry and Telecommand standards, PUS Packet Utilisation Standard, etc. Desirable requirements Experience of the following would be a distinct advantage Extensive experience with EPOCH IPS MC product suite from ISIKratos Extensive experience in the use of databases and SQLrelated querying in relation to spacecraft mission control systems Experience using a spacecraft mission control system based on SCOS2000 Experience using configuration management systems such as CVS and or GIT Experience using satellite simulators Linux operating system Leading a small team of engineers.
