EU's clothing imports have begun sharply falling from China in the past year, in line with a surge of unit prices in the country. Bangladesh has benefited from the move out of China in a large number of product categories whereas imports have also surged from other Asian countries, however from a much lower level. Our series of comparison tables offer a comprehensive view of EU clothing imports per HS 4-digit category with volume, value and unit price changes, while market shares are also calculated for each major supplying country. China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)

Viscose fiber and spun yarn prices have continued dropping in China with VSF however stabilizing in the past days. Cotton fiber and yarn prices are no more moving, but they could rebound after inventories will have been digested. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. US Apparel Imports in 2018: China vs. Rest of World (Quarterly Report)

China has been able to resist competition from other nations in many product categories of the US apparel import market in 2018. Unit prices of Chinese exports have further declined, especially in cotton apparel categories. This is reflected by our statistical review comparing US apparel imports from China with shipments from Rest of the World (RoW) for every category of products, in volume, value and unit value terms. Historical data cover the past five years, from 2013-2018.

Polyester intermediate prices have stayed relatively firm in the past week, whatever the fall of paraxylene prices over the addition of new production capacities in China. Operating rates are reaching record levels at polyester plants where profit margins are also further rising. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Asian Contract Prices (ACPs) are also available for the PX, PTA and MEG markets in Asia, with 5-year charts and downloadable historical data.

Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)

Cotton fiber prices have clearly rebounded on the international market therefore triggering a need for replenishing stocks as textile production is also recovering at the same time. New York is back to a 3-month high and cotton prices are further rallying in India, whatever the rise of the rupee.
