Spinners have been able to partly restore their margins in September in India whereas their Pakistani competitors were confronted with a fall of the yarn/fiber spread by contrast. Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)

PTA prices could be supported by the rise of crude oil and paraxylene prices in the past weeks whereas downward fiber and textile producers will need digesting inventories before accepting any new increase of their material costs. Reliance will join the club of ACP negotiators in January, conforming that India is emerging as a major producer of the polyester chain in Asia. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices.
